Cincinnati School of Music

Private Drum Teacher

About Cincinnati School of Music

Cincinnati School of Music is the largest private music school in Greater Cincinnati, serving more than 1,000 students each week across five locations. Founded in 2012, CSM provides private music lessons for students of all ages and experience levels in piano, voice, guitar, violin, drums, and many other instruments.

Our school combines the professionalism of an established music education organization with the warmth of a local family-run business. Our faculty includes experienced educators and performing musicians who care about helping students grow musically and personally.

Teachers at Cincinnati School of Music benefit from a steady stream of students, a collaborative teaching community, and administrative support that allows them to focus on teaching. Our goal is to create a positive, well-supported lesson experience for students, families, and teachers.

Cincinnati School of Music is hiring private drum teachers across our five Greater Cincinnati locations: Mason, Maineville, Middletown, Montgomery, and Anderson Township.

If you are open to more than one CSM location, you only need to apply once. Please apply to the posting that best matches your preferred instrument and location, then note any additional locations where you would be willing to teach.

This is a W-2 employee position, not independent contracting. CSM handles all scheduling, billing, and client communication so you can focus entirely on teaching.

Our administrative team manages student enrollment, tuition collection, and lesson scheduling. Teachers are not responsible for finding their own students or managing payments.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Strong drum and percussion fundamentals and the ability to teach beginners through intermediate students
  • Reliability and professionalism — showing up prepared and on time matters here
  • Comfort teaching students of varied ages, from young children to adults
  • Willingness to follow CSM's curriculum framework while bringing your own teaching strengths
  • Clear communication with students and families

WHO TENDS TO BUILD A SCHEDULE FASTER

  • Teachers available on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings
  • Those who can teach multiple age groups or experience levels
  • Teachers open to multiple CSM locations
  • Performers or educators already active in the Greater Cincinnati music community

WHO THIS IS NOT FOR

  • Those looking for full-time salaried employment — CSM teachers are part-time hourly
  • Teachers who prefer to manage their own schedule and client base independently
  • Those who need a guaranteed minimum number of students immediately
  • Anyone not comfortable with structure or administrative oversight

This position is for someone who wants to build a consistent weekly private lesson schedule with real administrative support behind them.
