JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:

• The strongest candidate will combine requirements engineering, systems thinking, and hands-on validation and verification experience.
• They should be comfortable taking a customer or system need, translating it into a well-defined and testable requirement, working with development teams during implementation, and ultimately demonstrating through objective validation and verification that the completed solution satisfies the requirement.

This is not primarily a software developer position. Programming experience is valuable, especially for test automation, but the core focus of the role is Requirements Engineering, Validation & Verification, Systems Integration, and Product Quality.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain systems infrastructure — including hardware, software, operating systems, and network components
• Implement system enhancements to improve reliability, performance, and scalability
• Analyze, modify, test, and maintain systems to ensure stable operations and support business needs
• Lead system configuration and integration activities, ensuring compatibility across platforms and environments
• Monitor and support installed systems, proactively ensuring high availability and performance
• Troubleshoot complex system and network issues, providing advanced-level support and root-cause analysis
• Develop automation scripts to streamline operations, reduce manual work, and support data collection
• Maintain system documentation, including installation guides, configuration notes, and change logs
• Manage backups and recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity and disaster readiness
• Ensure system security through access controls, firewalls, patches, and compliance with organizational standards
• Integrate new technologies into existing systems and lead design improvements post-release
• Act as a technical interface with customers and internal teams, providing analysis, support, and communication on system requirements and issues
• Lead engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality procedures, timelines, and performance expectations
• Contribute to moderately complex project aspects, working both independently and collaboratively

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Approximately 5–7 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience developing, documenting, reviewing, or managing technical requirements.
• Experience with software and/or system validation and verification.
• Experience developing and executing test plans and test cases.
• Experience validating embedded systems, HMI applications, controls, or similar electronic systems.
• Familiarity with software development and testing processes.
• Experience troubleshooting complex system and software issues.
• Familiarity with test automation and scripting, preferably Python.
• Familiarity with embedded software algorithms, controls, and electronic systems.
• Strong technical documentation skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining a strong focus on quality and process compliance.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:  

• Human Machine Interface (HMI) or embedded display systems.
• Requirements-to-test traceability and verification of requirements.
• Test automation tools and Python scripting.
• Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu or Debian.
• Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, C++, or related technologies.
• Communication protocols such as J1939, Data Link and Modbus.
• Diagnostic and validation tools such as ET, CANalyzer, CANape, CADET, ModSim, or similar tools.
• FMEA and structured risk-management processes.
• Data analysis using Excel, Python, or similar tools.
• Change Request Management (CRM), New Product Introduction (NPI), and Continuous Product/Process Improvement (CPI) processes.
• Working with distributed or global engineering teams and external suppliers.
