About the Role

The HVAC/R & Plumbing Account Manager is responsible for driving business growth, managing customer relationships, and overseeing the operational and financial performance of assigned service accounts. This position partners with customers, service leadership, and field teams to deliver exceptional service, identify new opportunities, and ensure long-term customer satisfaction while supporting the continued growth of our mechanical services business.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Develop and grow HVAC/R and plumbing service business through new client acquisition and expansion of existing accounts
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while serving as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts
  • Identify customer needs and develop service solutions that deliver long-term value
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate service agreements, and manage contract renewals
  • Collaborate with service managers, dispatch, and field technicians to ensure exceptional service delivery
  • Monitor account performance, customer satisfaction, and service quality to drive client retention
  • Manage account profitability by monitoring P&L performance, budgets, billing, and financial metrics
  • Conduct customer site visits to evaluate opportunities, address concerns, and strengthen partnerships
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, networking events, and industry functions
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, activity reports, and account documentation
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives while promoting a strong safety culture and company values

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered
  • 5+ years of experience in account management, business development, or sales within HVAC/R, plumbing, mechanical services, or industrial construction
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical service operations
  • Experience managing service agreements, customer contracts, and account profitability
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and financial reporting tools
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout assigned territories
  • Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive results

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Combination of office, customer locations, and active construction or service job sites
  • Ability to walk job sites, climb ladders, access rooftops, and navigate mechanical rooms as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Frequent local travel with occasional overnight travel based on business needs
