Finance Officer

About us:

Founded by Jordan Cullen in 2018, Cullen Jewellery is an Australian fine jewellery brand grounded in intention, care, and considered design.

As a digital-first brand, we bring together traditional craftsmanship and modern technology to create pieces designed to endure – in both form and feeling.

From carbon neutral lab-grown diamonds to responsible material choices and global replanting initiatives, every detail reflects Cullen’s long-term perspective.

About the position:

The Finance Officer runs the day-to-day transactional engine of our multi-entity, multi-currency finance function. In this role, you will own the accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable, bank reconciliations, card management, and expense processing across our global footprint. As Cullen scales toward an expanded international showroom network, you will play a central role in maintaining sleek, efficient finance operations, identifying automation opportunities, and supporting smooth month-end and compliance processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Process foreign and local supplier invoices, reconcile vendor statements, prepare multi-entity batch payments, and perform daily bank and sales reconciliations.
  • Administer corporate cards (Airwallex), manage the end-to-end expense claim and travel request lifecycle, and ensure accurate coding ahead of month-end close.
  • Assist with monthly journal entries and month end reconciliations, maintain the fixed asset register, and compile documentation for annual audits.
  • Administer employee benefits across jurisdictions in line with People & Culture frameworks, liaising with the Payroll Manager on pay and statutory contributions.
  • Monitor finance mailboxes, resolve stakeholder queries promptly, and proactively identify manual, repetitive tasks to streamline through automation.

What we are seeking:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounts, bookkeeping, or finance operations role handling high transactional volumes accurately.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Xero (or similar cloud accounting software) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Solid understanding of core financial processes, including accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and expense management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and absolute discretion when handling confidential financial data.
  • Clear, confident communication skills with a collaborative, proactive approach to following up across the business.
  • Full working rights in Australia.

What we offer:

  • Fully own end-to-end transactional workflows across international entities and gain direct exposure to complex, multi-currency finance operations.
  • Play an active role in continuous improvement, helping drive process automation and system efficiencies as our global network expands.
  • Fast-track your professional development alongside a supportive Finance Manager in a rapidly scaling, digital-first business.
  • Enjoy a supportive, Monday–Friday corporate culture in our modern Kew office, complete with convenient parking options.
  • Generous staff discounts on our fine jewellery, plus a 20% discount for your friends and family.
  • An extra week of paid leave every year to support a charity close to your heart.
  • Sponsorship of a child in need via Baptist World Aid for every full-time team member who joins our family.
