Homestead, a Verndale Company

Retention Execution Specialist

Homestead Studio
Homestead is a retention-first marketing agency supporting some of the fastest-growing e-commerce brands. We move quickly, communicate clearly, and believe great strategy only matters if it's executed exceptionally well.

We don't believe in simply checking boxes or delivering what's asked. We go above and beyond for our clients, constantly looking for opportunities to improve performance, solve problems before they happen, and create meaningful business impact. We're outcome-focused, hold ourselves to a high standard of execution, and are always looking for better ways to work.

About the role

We're hiring a Retention Specialist to own the day-to-day execution and project management of email and SMS programs across a portfolio of e-commerce clients. You'll work in lockstep with the Retention Strategist to keep campaigns and flows moving smoothly from creative development through client approval, implementation, and deployment.

You'll have a constant pulse on your entire book of business — knowing where every deliverable stands, what's waiting on the client or internal team, which deadlines are approaching, and what needs to happen next. You'll serve as an operational point of contact for clients, managing assets, previews, approvals, and feedback while coordinating internally to keep work on track.

This is a hands-on role. Alongside project ownership, you'll build campaigns, create segments, perform QA, send previews, implement feedback, schedule deployments, and troubleshoot issues. We're looking for someone who thinks ahead, catches risks before they become problems, and takes ownership of getting high-quality work out the door on time.

Responsibilities

  • Own your book of business
  • Maintain a clear pulse on every campaign, flow, deadline, and deliverable across your clients
  • Keep projects moving, proactively following up on outstanding assets, approvals, and feedback
  • Identify risks and blockers early and communicate them to the right people
  • Serve as an operational point of contact for clients, managing previews, approvals, assets, and updates
  • Work closely with Retention Strategists, copywriters, and designers to keep deliverables on track
  • Keep project management systems accurate and up to date
  • Build and schedule email and SMS campaigns and flows
  • Create segments, send previews, implement feedback, and manage deployments
  • Support reporting and troubleshoot implementation issues as needed
  • Perform comprehensive QA before campaigns and flows go live
  • Verify links, segmentation, personalization, UTMs, formatting, and scheduling
  • Ensure work launches accurately, on time, and to Homestead's quality standards

What Success Looks Like

  • You know what's happening across your entire book of business
  • You anticipate deadlines, blockers, and next steps before they become issues
  • You keep clients and internal teams informed and projects moving
  • You balance speed, organization, and exceptional attention to detail
  • You take ownership and consistently follow through

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in email/SMS, lifecycle marketing, marketing operations, or project management
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple clients and deadlines
  • Strong client-facing communication skills
  • Experience building campaigns, flows, segments, and performing QA
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident solving problems independently
  • Comfortable with tools like Asana, Slack, Google Workspace, and lifecycle marketing platforms
  • Excited to use AI and automation to work more efficiently

Why Join Homestead?

  • Work on retention programs for fast-growing e-commerce brands
  • Join a highly collaborative team that values ownership, speed, and operational excellence

Note on Application Responses
We strongly encourage applicants to answer questions in their own words. While tools like ChatGPT can be helpful for organizing or polishing your thoughts, it is very easy to recognize when responses are copied and pasted without personalization.
