About dub
Founded in 2021 in NYC, dub is creating a new investing platform where you pick your own money manager. We believe most people are better off trusting the experts with their money, just like the rich do. However, the ability to do so hasn't been available until now, with dub.
Our mission is to simplify investing by making it about people selection, and hopefully onboard the ~50% of Americans who don't own a single stock and aren't participating in the greatest wealth creation engine of our times: the stock market. Job done right, we will rewrite the playbook for how the regular individual invests and transform global GDP.
Today, we have nearly 2 Million app downloads, have been featured dozens of times on national television & major news outlets, and have built a national brand people trust with their money.
Backing
dub's raised $47 Million in total, and recently raised $30 million in 2025 during our Series A funding round from visionaries who support our mission. Our institutional investors include Notable Captial, Neo, Tusk Ventures Partners, and Slow Venture, and our angels consist of partners from Sequoia and A16Z, Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners, and the current or former CEO/Founders of Uber, Airbnb, Robinhood, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, and TIAA.
About
dub is looking for a Senior Motion Designer, Performance Creative to join our Marketing team and help build the creative engine behind our paid growth.
This is not a traditional production design role. You’ll sit directly inside the performance marketing function, partnering with growth marketers to turn hypotheses into creative, put that creative into market, understand what happened, and determine what we should make next.
You’ll combine motion design, product storytelling, performance creative, and experimentation. One day you may be animating the dub product and portfolios inside the app; the next, developing a new visual concept from an audience insight or turning a winning ad into an entirely new family of iterations.
The goal is not simply to make more ads. It is to systematically discover which ideas, messages, hooks, visual systems, and product stories drive growth — and compound those learnings over time.
You’ll be measured by the impact of the creative you produce, not the volume of assets you ship.
Because dub is a broker-dealer and operates a registered investment adviser, our marketing also operates within a rigorous compliance framework. The strongest designers here will treat those requirements as creative constraints to solve — finding ways to make financial advertising compelling, clear, and compliant at the same time.
What You’ll Own
- Design and animate performance creative across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and other emerging paid channels, with a particular focus on motion graphics, product visualization, UI animation, and short-form video.
- Turn growth hypotheses into creative concepts. Partner with performance marketers to translate audience, messaging, funnel, and behavioral insights into differentiated ideas worth testing.
- Own the creative experimentation cycle end to end: hypothesis → concept → build → launch → analysis → iteration.
- Design tests that teach us something. Structure creative variations intentionally so we can understand why something won or lost rather than producing a collection of indistinguishable versions.
- Make the product a central character in our advertising. Animate real dub interfaces, portfolios, interactions, and product behaviors so potential users quickly understand what the product is and why it matters.
- Develop high-impact hooks and visual storytelling systems that communicate complex financial concepts within the first few seconds of an ad.
- Read performance data and turn it into creative direction. Develop your own point of view on why a concept performed, identify patterns across creative, and translate those insights into the next generation of work.
- Build creative franchises, not just one-off ads. When an idea works, identify its underlying mechanism and develop new expressions, narratives, hooks, and formats around it.
- Maintain a strong creative testing pipeline alongside the performance team, including a prioritized backlog of hypotheses, concepts, iterations, and new bets.
- Build a scalable motion system of templates, components, UI treatments, transitions, and reusable animation logic that allows us to move faster without sacrificing craft.
- Design for the channel. Understand how creative behavior differs across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and new placements, and build work specifically for how users consume content in each environment.
- Operate effectively within compliance requirements, including disclosures, disclaimers, performance claims, and other requirements specific to investment marketing.
- Raise the creative bar for performance marketing at dub. Bring new references, formats, technologies, workflows, and ideas into the team and help define what exceptional performance creative looks like here.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in motion design, performance creative, advertising, or a related discipline, with a portfolio demonstrating exceptional motion craft and work designed for paid digital channels.
- A portfolio that shows more than beautiful execution — you can explain the objective behind the work, what was tested, what happened, and what you learned.
- Deep expertise in After Effects and strong proficiency in tools such as Cinema 4D, Blender, or equivalent 3D/motion software.
- Strong experience with product and UI animation, including workflows between Figma and motion tools. Experience with Rive, Lottie, or similar technologies is a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of performance creative for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube, including hooks, pacing, aspect ratios, platform-native conventions, and how creative affects media performance.
- Strong visual and conceptual judgment. You can take an insight or rough hypothesis and independently turn it into a compelling creative idea — not simply execute against a detailed brief.
- Comfortable working with creative performance data. Metrics like CTR, thumb-stop/hook rate, conversion rate, CPA, and ROAS are inputs into your creative process rather than something owned exclusively by the media team.
- Experience with structured creative testing and the discipline to distinguish between testing a hypothesis and simply producing variations.
- A strong instinct for iteration. You know how to identify what is working inside a concept and evolve it without endlessly reproducing the same ad.
- High ownership and comfort with ambiguity. You are proactive about identifying opportunities, forming a point of view, and moving the work forward.
- Ability to balance speed and craft. You understand that performance creative needs to move quickly, but speed does not mean careless or generic work.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to work closely with performance marketers, content creators, data partners, product teams, and compliance.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing for fintech, financial services, health, insurance, or another regulated category.
- Experience marketing a consumer mobile app or subscription product.
- Experience developing ads using real product experiences, dynamic interfaces, or data-driven visualizations.
- Experience building or helping build a performance creative program from the ground up.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled creative workflows and an interest in using emerging tools to increase concepting and iteration speed.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, success means we are not simply producing more creative — we are getting smarter and more effective every testing cycle.
You will help dub build a performance creative engine where:
- We consistently generate new, differentiated concepts rather than minor variations of existing ads.
- Every meaningful test produces a learning that informs what we make next.
- Winning concepts become scalable creative systems and franchises.
- Product storytelling makes dub immediately understandable to new audiences.
- Creative quality and iteration speed both improve over time.
- Performance creative becomes one of the company’s strongest and most durable growth advantages.
