Job Overview

Eco Battery is seeking a driven and strategic Sales Team Manager – Marine & RV to lead the company’s aftermarket sales efforts across the marine and RV markets. This role will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that drive revenue growth, expand market share, strengthen dealer relationships, and build a high-performing sales organization.

The Outside Sales Team Manager will oversee and develop both inside and outside sales representatives, establishing clear expectations, sales processes, performance metrics, and accountability across the team. This individual will work closely with leadership, marketing, product, operations, and customer support to ensure Eco Battery delivers a consistent and exceptional experience to dealers, distributors, and customers throughout the aftermarket channel.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Lead the development and execution of Eco Battery’s national aftermarket sales strategy for the Marine & RV markets.
  • Develop regional and channel-specific sales plans designed to achieve revenue, volume, margin, and market-share objectives.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities across dealers, distributors, retailers, installers, and other aftermarket partners.
  • Establish sales targets, forecasts, KPIs, and performance expectations for the sales organization.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, customer performance, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop annual and quarterly sales strategies and growth initiatives.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the company’s sales model, territory structure, and channel strategy.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Directly manage and develop the inside and outside sales teams supporting the Marine & RV aftermarket business.
  • Establish clear goals, expectations, KPIs, and accountability standards for each sales representative.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, pipeline reviews, performance reviews, and sales team meetings.
  • Coach sales representatives on prospecting, relationship management, product positioning, negotiation, closing, and account development.
  • Develop individual growth plans and provide ongoing training and mentorship to build a high-performing sales organization.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop sales talent as the organization expands.
  • Create a culture of accountability, urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Dealer & Account Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key dealers, distributors, and aftermarket partners throughout the Marine & RV industries.
  • Develop strategies to increase dealer engagement, product adoption, reorder frequency, and overall account value.
  • Support sales representatives in developing and closing strategic accounts and opportunities.
  • Participate in key customer meetings, trade shows, dealer events, and industry events as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and strategic accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Eco Battery’s presence within existing dealer and distribution networks.
  • Monitor account performance and proactively address customer concerns, competitive threats, and opportunities for growth.

Sales Process & Execution

  • Establish and maintain consistent sales processes across all regions and sales representatives.
  • Ensure CRM data, account information, sales activities, opportunities, and forecasting are accurately maintained.
  • Develop standardized sales reporting and dashboards to monitor team and individual performance.
  • Establish a consistent sales cadence including pipeline reviews, forecasting meetings, territory reviews, and account planning.
  • Ensure leads and opportunities are followed up on quickly and effectively.
  • Identify gaps in the sales process and implement improvements that increase conversion rates and sales efficiency.
  • Work closely with marketing to ensure lead generation and marketing initiatives align with sales objectives.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Marketing to develop campaigns, promotions, dealer programs, and sales enablement materials.
  • Work with Product Management to communicate market feedback, customer needs, competitive activity, and product opportunities.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure inventory availability supports sales forecasts and customer demand.
  • Collaborate with Customer Support to ensure dealer and customer issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Communicate market trends and customer feedback to executive leadership to influence company strategy and product development.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Own the sales forecasting process for the Marine & RV aftermarket business.
  • Monitor sales performance against monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Track key sales metrics including revenue, gross margin, pipeline, conversion rates, new accounts, reorder rates, average account value, and sales activity.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to executive leadership.
  • Use data and analytics to identify underperforming territories, accounts, products, and sales activities.
  • Hold the sales team accountable to measurable performance standards and results.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of progressive sales experience, preferably within the marine, RV, powersports, automotive, battery, electrical, or related aftermarket industries.
  • 2+ years of sales management or team leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue growth and sales targets.
  • Experience managing both inside and outside sales teams is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of aftermarket dealer, distributor, and retail sales channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term customer and dealer relationships.
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working within a CRM and managing sales pipelines.
  • Willingness to travel regularly for customer visits, dealer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.

Preferred

  • Existing relationships within the Marine and/or RV aftermarket industries.
  • Experience selling lithium batteries, power systems, electrical components, or related products.
  • Experience building or scaling a national dealer network.
  • Experience developing territory strategies and sales compensation plans.
  • Experience working within a fast-growing organization where processes and teams are continually evolving.
