About this role
The Stockroom Clerk is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through accurate inventory management, material movement, kitting, and fulfillment of production material requirements. This role ensures inventory accuracy, timely delivery of materials to production, proper storage and organization of stockroom inventory, and compliance with company safety and inventory control procedures. The Stockroom Clerk works closely with production, purchasing, receiving, shipping, and quality teams to maintain efficient material flow throughout the facility.
What you'll be doing
- Champion a "Safety-First" culture at all times.
- Pull, issue, and deliver materials for production jobs, open parts requests, and other internal material requirements.
- Pick, stage, and assemble open parts and kits in accordance with production schedules.
- Process inventory transactions in real-time and accurately within Epicor to maintain inventory integrity and traceability.
- Receive, put away, and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Replenish production Working Stock (WS) inventory and maintain designated stocking locations.
- Perform cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits to support inventory accuracy goals.
- Participate in co-audits with Operations personnel to verify inventory accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and maintain material accountability.
- Investigate and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies, shortages, and material location issues.
- Transport materials between warehouses, departments, and facilities as required to support production operations.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate identification, labeling, and organization of inventory throughout the warehouse.
- Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and movement of materials as business needs require.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and stockroom areas in accordance with 5S and company standards.
- Follow all company procedures related to inventory control, traceability, material handling, and safety.
- Support Receiving, Shipping, and other Logistics functions during periods of increased workload.
What you'll have
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of experience in warehouse, stockroom, inventory, or material handling roles.
- Experience using ERP systems for inventory transactions; Epicor Kinetic experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with handheld scanners, barcode systems, and basic computer applications.
- Ability to accurately identify, count, and verify inventory quantities and locations.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists, kit lists, work orders, and inventory reports.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
- Experience performing cycle counts and inventory control activities preferred.
- Valid driver's license preferred but not required.
Physical requirements and work environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and move heavier materials using approved equipment.
- Regular use of forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.
- Work is performed in an active manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, and moderate noise levels.
- Ability to work in warehouse and manufacturing environments with varying temperatures.
- Use of standard warehouse equipment, handheld scanners, and computer systems is required.
Safety requirements
- PPE & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all site safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times including safety glasses and safety-toe footwear in designated warehouse and manufacturing areas.
- Hazard Awareness: Proactively identify, report, and mitigate potential workplace hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Standards: Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety training.
- Organization: Keep all work areas clean and free of obstructions in accordance with 5S and company standards to prevent workplace accidents.
