What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

  • A strong writer and editor with excellent attention to detail.
  • Creative and able to identify engaging, locally relevant story ideas.
  • Comfortable balancing multiple print and digital deadlines.
  • Organized and able to maintain calendars, tasks, and content tracking.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across multiple teams and markets.
  • Willing to attend community events and stay connected to what is happening locally.
  • Proactive, dependable, and willing to step in where needed.
  • Able to take initiative, accept feedback, and continuously improve

What you'll do

Print & Editorial

  • Assist the Managing Editor with publication-related tasks.
  • Write a minimum of one print feature per month.
  • Gather and develop local content for assigned publications.
  • Edit and proofread articles for accuracy, grammar, spelling, and style.
  • Research and fact-check content.
  • Localize content for individual FRG markets.
  • Write sponsored articles for clients.
  • Research and update print directories.
  • Maintain print and online community calendars.
  • Attend weekly community events to gather local content.
  • Assist other FRG markets when additional editorial support is needed.
  • Conduct content audits to identify outdated, redundant, or duplicate information.

Digital & Website Content

  • Write five online content pieces per week.
  • Research and update online directories.
  • Manage, monitor, and update FRG websites to keep content accurate and relevant.
  • Maintain organized tracking of website content, including important dates and links.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team and management to ensure website content aligns with FRG brand standards and strategy.

Social & Community Content

  • Contribute 10 content ideas each week for your assigned market.
  • Gather content while attending local community events.
  • Submit relevant event content to the Digital Content Coordinator.

Organization & Teamwork

  • Maintain assigned AdOrbit tickets.
  • Keep ClickUp tasks accurate and up to date.
  • Stay active and responsive in Slack.
  • Collaborate with editors and team members across FRG markets.
  • Take ownership of assignments and follow projects through completion.

Success in this position means consistently producing accurate, high-quality content on deadline, actively contributing ideas and local insight, maintaining organized workflows, and ensuring content reflects FRG’s standards across print, digital, and social platforms.
