GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Maintain and repair all rolling stock; assist in development of maintenance schedules for rolling stock; follow maintenance schedules for completion of work; and perform routine building maintenance and repair at company locations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain and repair all rolling stock

Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on rolling stock and refer defects or needed repairs to supervisor

Maintain records of maintenance and repairs for rolling stock

Ensure proper completion, compilation, and retention of daily operating checklists for forklifts within company policies

Report any exceptions to completing daily operating checklists for forklifts to appropriate management

Repair and/or replace safety equipment, as necessary

Communicate maintenance, repairs, and tool replacements, that are needed to supervisor

Provide estimates for repairs to supervisor in advance of work being preformed

Communicate maintenance and repair schedules to location managers, as necessary

Demonstrate safe work practices

Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment

Demonstrate excellence internal and external customer service

Relate to the public, vendors, employees, and customers in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their requests

Demonstrate regular predictable attendance

Participate in ongoing safety training and safety committee meetings

Perform other tasks and duties as requested by supervisor


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rule, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form


OTHER SKILLS AND/OR ATTRIBUTES

Ability to be forklift trained and certified

Mechanical skills and aptitude

Ability to maintain a positive attitude

Ability to work in all weather conditions
