General Job Description Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the General Manager, Central owns the Central region end-to-end: inbound sort, warehouse operations, and final-mile delivery from Pittsburgh to Austin. The region is anchored by our Indianapolis and Dallas regional sorts, which feed the Midwest and Texas networks respectively.

Primary Responsibilities:

Warehouse and sort. Run safe, efficient operations at every Central site, including the Indianapolis and Dallas regional sorts that downstream markets depend on to make their routes each morning.

Final mile. Own on-time delivery and every final-mile metric for the region, from dispatch through delivery completion and the customer's experience at the door. Driver Services and Network Capacity support you with driver supply, forecasting, and capacity planning. You own the results.

People. Lead site operations managers and a regional planning manager, and develop the supervisors and leads beneath them. Hire well, coach directly, hold people accountable, and build a robust leadership bench.

Cost and performance. Own the region's cost drivers: labor productivity, cost per package, and third-party labor and vendor spend. Build budgets and forecasts with Finance and explain the variance.

Standard work. Put a daily operating rhythm, scorecards, and standard processes in every building. Support the rollout of new systems across the region.

Safety and compliance. Partner with EHS and Loss Prevention to keep sites safe, audit-ready, and compliant.

Customers. Be the regional operations contact for key shippers. Root-cause service failures, implement robust action plans, and close them for good.

Growth. Launch new sites and lanes in support of the company's ongoing expansion.
