Lighthouse Senior Living at Hopkins Creek is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Health and Wellness to lead our resident care team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed LPN or RN who is ready to take the next step in their leadership career or an experienced nursing leader looking to join a supportive senior living community.

As Director of Nursing, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality resident care, provide leadership and support to the nursing and care team, maintain regulatory compliance, and work closely with community leadership, residents, families, and healthcare providers.

What We're Looking For

  • Current LPN or RN license in the State of Maryland required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in assisted living, senior living, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting.
  • Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of resident assessments, care planning, medication management, and clinical documentation.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop a successful nursing and care team.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, associates, and healthcare partners.
  • Dependable, professional, and committed to providing exceptional care to older adults.

What You'll Do

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the community's nursing and resident care services.
  • Lead, support, coach, and develop nursing and care team members.
  • Ensure resident care is delivered in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations, community policies, and professional nursing standards.
  • Participate in pre-admission assessments and help determine appropriate levels of care for prospective residents.
  • Complete and oversee resident assessments at admission, periodically as required, and following changes in resident condition.
  • Develop, review, and update individualized resident care and service plans.
  • Monitor residents for changes in physical, functional, cognitive, and psychosocial condition and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, pharmacies, hospitals, and other healthcare providers.
  • Review and transcribe physician orders and ensure orders are implemented appropriately.
  • Oversee medication management and administration practices in accordance with applicable regulations and established standards.
  • Assist residents with coordinating physician, dental, laboratory, and other healthcare appointments as needed.
  • Participate in hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and development of nursing and care associates.
  • Promote appropriate staffing levels and help build a dependable, engaged resident care team.
  • Participate in staff development, education, and training programs.
  • Maintain accurate resident documentation and ensure clinical records meet regulatory and community standards.
  • Assist with quality assurance, infection prevention, incident review, and other clinical initiatives.
  • Understand and implement the community's emergency preparedness, fire safety, and evacuation procedures.
  • Partner with the Executive Director and leadership team to promote exceptional resident care and an outstanding resident and family experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
