About the Role

The Paralegal Group Leader ensures that all team members joining the Firm have a fantastic experience. They must coordinate with the paralegal Team Leaders consistently to ensure the team is meeting their quality and target outputs. The Paralegal Group Lead develops those beneath them to become stronger leaders and shines at exemplifying our core values and influencing their team to embody them as well.


Your Key Contributions

  • Responsible for up to 3-5 paralegal team leaders (each of whom support up to 5-6 paralegals)
  • Lead team leaders to ensure team members follow standard processes

-Implement and own SOP by which team leader will perform their job duties and work with team leader on any proposed improvements to that SOP

  • Lead team leaders to ensure team meets daily/weekly individual and team quality and output targets

-Review team progress on run charts, error trackers and any other KP trackers daily and immediately raise any issues with TL falling short of targets

-Support the TL in implementing a catch-up plan as needed, solving for root cause when team targets are not met to prevent recurrence

-Work with TL to reach quality targets as set in conjunction with leadership

-Gemba walk with each TL at least 1x per week in team meeting to understand how TL conducts the meeting, tracks performance, provides feedback and tackles problems with their team members

  • Participate in developing and carrying out initiatives to support teams in meeting firm targets and case submission goals

-Work with the TLs to implement any improvement initiatives aims to meet firm quality and output targets and case submission goals

-Gain familiarity with the capacity tracker and discuss with leaders how this plays into firm quality and output targets and submission goals

  • Lead TL through improvement efforts with their team

-Hold regular target review meeting with each TL to discuss reasons quality and output team targets were met and/or not met and the SOP(s) for the team and any proposed or in-test modifications

  • Support TL in implementing and tracking KPIs

-Review run charts, error trackers, TL review logs and any other KPI trackers and hold target review meetings where KPIs drive the discussion

  • Implement and track KPIs related to TL targets and improvement initiatives

-Track the progress of each TL and the TL group as a whole in reaching quality and output goals

  • Provide relief for team leaders as needed

-Cover TL absences and assist as needed in catchup plans if a team member falls short of targets

  • Train and develop new TLs and upkeep training material

-Assist in developing and improving an SOP for onboarding/training and following that SOP

  • Handle HR issues for team leaders

-Time off requests, timecard reviews, feedback reviews

-Assist in developing SOP for handling HR issues and follow that SOP


What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Client-facing experience, with the ability to build strong client relationships and manage communications professionally
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring team members, driving accountability, and leading initiatives
  • KPI tracking and reporting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Knowledge of immigration law and firm procedures

Work Schedule

  • M-F 9 AM - 6 PM EST

  • At least 8 GB of memory (RAM) to run applications smoothly
  • A fast hard drive with sufficient available storage
