League One Volleyball (LOVB) is reimagining women's sports. Launched in 2019, our company is a mission-led sports performance, training and media enterprise that will change the game of volleyball in the USA and empower new generations of female athletes.
 
It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball in the US with our historic triple Olympic Gold medals in Women's Indoor, Beach and Sitting Volleyball. Volleyball is already the #1 most played girls'  youth sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first (~90% of players are female). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands, and media.

VolleyStation Technical Delegate Job Overview 

The Technical Delegate will oversee the technical aspects of volleyball matches, ensuring the seamless setup and  operation of hardware and software systems. The Technical Delegate will play a crucial role in enhancing the  overall experience for players, coaches, and spectators by ensuring that all technical elements of the match run  smoothly. 

Responsibilities:  

Hardware Setup 

Prepare and set up all necessary hardware equipment for the volleyball match, including video cameras, computers,  routers, cabling, and ipads at the appropriate places. 

Conduct thorough pre-match checks to ensure the functionality and reliability of all hardware components. Troubleshoot and resolve any hardware issues promptly to minimize disruptions during the match. 

Software Configuration 

Configure and test software applications related to match scoring, video feed, and communication systems. Collaborate with venue staff and IT teams to ensure compatibility and integration with other software systems. 

Technical Support 

Provide on-site technical support during matches, addressing any issues that may arise promptly and effectively. 

Collaborate with referees, coaches, and other officials to ensure a clear understanding of the technical systems in  use. 

Train and assist other staff members in the operation of technical equipment when necessary. 

Communication and Coordination 

Liaise with tournament organizers, venue staff, and IT personnel to coordinate technical requirements and resolve  logistical issues. 

Communicate effectively with teams, coaches, and officials to provide updates and address any technical  concerns. 

Communicate directly with Scorers using VolleyStation Referee as well as scouts working remotely as well as  VolleyStation representatives. 

TIMELINE OF REQUIREMENTS 

Arrival: 1 day before competition day  

Set-up: Most sites have 1 day set-up prior to competition start day. Arrive at venue in early afternoon to install hardware, test  connections, and any additional pre set-up tasks. 

Departure: Afternoon after event conclusion, to ensure all equipment is broken down, loaded on truck, and removed from  facility 

Whether a 1, 2, or 3 day event, must be on-site during any window of time volleyball is being played (including practice and/or  serve & pass) to provide assistance to any equipment or technical issues that arise. 

COMPENSATION 

Flight, ground transportation, and meals are at the expense of the contractor. 

LOVB will provide reasonable accommodations and a stipend for each event worked. The compensation scale is as follows: Per Event (Includes set-up time of day prior, pending venue availability) : $400
