About the role

The Company is looking for a Manager of Accounting to join their Nashville based team. The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role manages accounting staff, monitors financial transactions, and ensures the integrity of financial data.

What you'll do

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, and bank reconciliations
  • Oversee retail and e-commerce revenue recognition, including POS systems and online platforms (e.g., Shopify)
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory accounting, including cost of goods sold (COGS), stock levels, and shrinkage
  • Track and report tour/event-related finances, including settlements, expenses, and profitability
  • Handle royalty accounting and payments for artists, licensors, or partners
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry-specific revenue recognition standards
  • Partner with operations, merchandising, and production teams to improve financial processes
  • Analyze sales performance, margins, and product profitability
  • Manage sales tax compliance across multiple states/jurisdictions
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Lead audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s preferred)
  • CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred
  • 4-5 years of accounting experience, including supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Netsuite) and Excel
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Tour or music industry related experience preferred
  • Ability to discern critical details from a range of data
  • Ability to learn new POS and network systems
  • Desire to work in a creative environment
