Overview

The QA Analyst (Manual Testing) is responsible for ensuring the highest standard of product quality through thoughtful manual testing, defect identification, and continuous quality improvement. In this role, you will validate new features, identify issues early in the development cycle, and help foster a culture of accountability and high-quality standards.

This position reports to our QA Lead and works closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and DevOps. We collaborate both synchronously and asynchronously to move quickly, remain nimble, and stay collaborative.

We are looking for a smart, detail-oriented, and experienced QA professional who can generally work full-time hours in this US-based, fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Create, maintain, and execute manual test cases and test scenarios to validate product functionality and ensure expected behavior across web, mobile, and API applications.
  2. Perform exploratory, regression, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing to identify functional and usability issues.
  3. Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, and other QA team members to understand requirements, refine acceptance criteria, and ensure high-quality releases.
  4. Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects, providing clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
  5. Validate bug fixes and perform regression testing before releases.
  6. Participate in feature refinement sessions, helping identify edge cases, risks, and test scenarios early in the development process.
  7. Contribute to improving QA processes, testing methodologies, documentation, and overall product quality.
  8. Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, checklists, and knowledge base articles.
  9. Support release validation and production verification activities when needed.
  10. Collaborate with the automation team by identifying automation candidates and maintaining automation-ready test scenarios.

Your Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Software QA Analyst with a strong focus on manual testing.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, software testing techniques, and defect lifecycle management.
  • Experience creating structured test cases, test plans, and executing exploratory testing.
  • Experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman or similar.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to quickly understand business rules and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using defect and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Testmo, or similar).
  • Familiarity with SQL and basic database validation is a plus.
  • ISTQB CTFL certification (or equivalent QA certification) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of test automation concepts is a plus, but hands-on automation experience is not required.
  • Located in the US and able to work full-time for a US employer without requiring visa sponsorship. E-Verify is used during new hire onboarding to confirm work authorization status.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Salary:  The targeted range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000 per year commensurate with qualifications and experience.
