About Niron
Niron Magnetics is commercializing the first new permanent magnetic material in decades—a breakthrough Iron Nitride technology that eliminates rare earths, strengthens supply chains, and drives a more sustainable future. At Niron, we’re not improving what exists—we’re building what’s never existed before. The materials, processes, and standards are being created in real time by our team. We were named one of “America's Top GreenTech Companies” for 2024 and 2025 by TIME Magazine, Fast Company World Changing Ideas wins in 2024, 2025 and winners of the Minneapolis/ St. Paul Business Journal Minnesota Manufacturing Awards in 2025 and 2026.
As we scale to commercial production, your impact is immediate and visible—on the plant floor, in the lab, and in the products our customers bring to life. We set a high bar because what we’re building will last—and so will the legacy of the people behind it.
Niron Magnetics is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Maintenance & Engineering Administrator to support the day-to-day administrative, work-management, data-management, and reporting needs of the Maintenance and Engineering department.
Reporting to the Manager, Equipment Engineering and Maintenance, this position will play an important role in maintaining accurate work-order, asset, spare-parts, and maintenance-performance information in D365 Asset Management.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with detailed records, following established processes, communicating across departments, and helping a growing maintenance organization improve its operating discipline. This is an administrative and coordination role; it does not independently supervise technicians, establish maintenance strategy, approve purchases, or make engineering decisions.
Internal maintenance planning identifies work-order quality, backlog visibility, PM administration, D365 asset data, parts readiness, KPI reporting, and documentation as dedicated work-management responsibilities.
· Review maintenance requests and support the creation, assignment, and routing of work orders to the appropriate maintenance or engineering personnel based on established processes and departmental direction.
· Maintain accurate work-order information in D365 Asset Management, including work-order type, asset, maintenance job type, description, responsible worker or group, lifecycle state, expected dates, and other required fields.
· Support work-order closure by confirming that required documentation and data have been entered before the work order advances through the established lifecycle.
· Assist with maintaining maintenance requests, work-order records, asset records, functional-location information, PM-related records, equipment documentation, and other maintenance master data.
· Provide basic administrative support to D365 users and reinforce established work-order and data-entry standards.
· Support parts ordering by gathering part descriptions, manufacturer and model information, quantities, vendor information, quotations, lead times, equipment references, and other documentation needed to initiate a purchase request.
· Assist with linking spare parts to the appropriate assets, asset types, manufacturer/model combinations, or asset bills of materials in D365.
· Support documentation of issued, returned, installed, or replaced parts when information is provided by technicians, crib personnel, Procurement, or other authorized users.
· Compile and maintain accurate data for recurring Maintenance and Engineering reports, dashboards, meetings, and leadership updates.
· Support reporting related to work orders created and completed, open backlog, work-order status, aging, work-order type, assignments, hold reasons, and closure performance.
· Compile labor and work-order data, including posted hours, responsible group, asset, job type, and other established maintenance reporting fields.
· Review source data for missing, inconsistent, or potentially inaccurate information before it is included in department reports.
· Maintain recurring report templates, Excel files, PowerPoint updates, shared records, and supporting documentation.
· Prepare draft summaries and visual materials for review by the Manager, Equipment Engineering and Maintenance.
· Support data requests and routine analysis without independently establishing KPI targets, performance conclusions, staffing decisions, or maintenance priorities.
· Provide general administrative support to the Maintenance and Engineering department.
· Assist with preparing meeting materials, documenting decisions and follow-up items, and maintaining department action lists.
· Support continuous-improvement activities related to maintenance data quality, administrative workflows, reporting consistency, and document control.
· Perform other related administrative and coordination duties as assigned.
· Associate degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
· Approximately 2–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing administration, maintenance coordination, engineering support, work-order administration, inventory support, CMMS administration, ERP data management, or a related role.
· Experience entering, reviewing, and maintaining detailed information in a CMMS, ERP, maintenance-management, inventory, or similar business system.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
· Ability to work with spreadsheets, organize data, identify missing or inconsistent information, and prepare accurate recurring reports.
· Strong organizational, prioritization, time-management, and follow-up skills.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to handle multiple requests and changing priorities in a fast-growing manufacturing environment.
· Highly collaborative and comfortable working with maintenance technicians, engineers, operations personnel, vendors, and business-support functions.
· Ability to recognize when an issue requires clarification or escalation rather than making an unsupported technical or purchasing decision.
· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Asset Management.
· Experience with another CMMS or enterprise asset-management system.
· Experience supporting maintenance work orders, preventive maintenance, backlog management, labor reporting, or equipment records.
· Experience supporting spare-parts inventories, purchase requests, item-master records, equipment BOMs, or storeroom processes.
· Intermediate Microsoft Excel capabilities, including filtering, data validation, lookup functions, PivotTables, and basic data reconciliation.
· Experience preparing KPI reports, dashboards, leadership updates, or recurring department reports.
· Familiarity with document-control practices, equipment manuals, technical records, or maintenance procedures.
· Competitive compensation based on experience, education, and skills
· Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
· Mental healthcare
· 401(k) plan with company match
· Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays
· Experience in a fun, high-performing manufacturing environment
