About the Role

Data is what makes Parsyl's approach to insurance different, and this role will lead the product direction for the platform that data runs on. You'll build our data warehouse and the pipelines behind it, working as a trio with product analytics and data platform engineering, so teams across Parsyl can make data-informed decisions.

In this role, you will:

Build the platform

  • Own the product vision and roadmap for Parsyl's data platform, including the data warehouse, pipelines, and the data inputs that all teams depend on
  • Build a data platform that serves both humans and agents, so that the same data is accessible to the people who need it and to the AI tools we build on top of it
  • Reduce complexity in the data platform so that non-technical users across the company can self-serve the insights and reports they need

Make the data work across Parsyl

  • Drive our data governance program: define what good data quality looks like with the upstream teams that produce the data, build the checks and feedback mechanisms that catch problems in the platform, and surface issues back
  • Ensure the data in the data platform is stable, reliable and available
  • Partner with the product experience teams that own operational and compliance reporting, supporting them with platform reliability, data availability, and shared data definitions so they can produce their reports from the data warehouse on the cadence our business and regulators require

Turn data into insight

  • Deliver cross-functional insights and analytics: the strategic reporting that impacts multiple other teams and spans multiple data sources and stakeholders
  • Partner with our underwriting team to define what they need to understand about our portfolio of customers & policies. Set the direction for how we represent and surface accumulations of risk across our business. Ensure data supporting this function flows cleanly from other internal systems into the Data Warehouse
  • Run discovery with teams across the business to understand what questions they're trying to answer, and translate that into data platform requirements

  • Working fluency with modern data tooling and enough technical depth to be a real partner to data engineers on data architecture, pipeline, and warehouse design decisions
  • Experience defining and running a data governance approach across teams, including where accountability for data quality sits and how it gets enforced
  • Ability to communicate effectively, write strong product requirements, and drive action across functions and teams
