Position Description
The Political Compliance Associate is an entry-level role on Pocketbook’s Campaign Finance Compliance team, working directly with a diverse portfolio of social movement organizations and insurgent political committees — federal and state campaigns, PACs, and party committees — to ensure their financial activity is accurately reported and fully compliant with campaign finance regulations. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Compliance, this role is integral to day to day compliance work: processing contributions, maintaining data compliance, generating reports, and flagging issues before they become problems.
The majority of this role is hands on, managing and manipulating financial data — importing and reconciling contribution data, screening for impermissible receipts, generating cure letters, and supporting the preparation and filing of FEC and state disclosure reports. You’ll work across multiple client accounts simultaneously, which means staying organized, communicating clearly, and knowing when to ask for help.
The ideal candidate finds precision satisfying rather than tedious, is curious about how campaign finance rules actually work, and who wants to build real expertise in a specialized and consequential field. Most of the technical knowledge is trainable — what’s not trainable is the disposition: detail-oriented, proactive, and genuinely committed to getting it right.
