Technical Consultant: Where Your Impact Actually Matters
About Practifi
Practifi is the only intelligent CRM company that meets wealth management firms wherever they are in their AI adoption journey. Our enterprise-grade, compliance-first foundation brings client data, workflows, and relationship intelligence together in one system, so firms can understand what matters, take the right action, and scale without ever needing a new CRM.
That same directness runs through how we work. We're remote-first across the US and Australia, honest about what the first few months look like, and we don't sell a version of the role that doesn't exist.
The Opportunity (What This Role Really Means)
Clients trust us with the systems that run their business, and that trust is earned one project at a time by people who know the platform. As a Technical Consultant, you're that person. You take a client's requirements, figure out what Practifi can genuinely do (versus what would just create a maintenance headache down the line), and build it. You're the technical half of our paired model, working alongside a Business Analyst who owns the relationship while you own the build. When something breaks or a client needs an escalation handled with confidence, you're often the one they're counting on.
Your Day-to-Day (The Honest Version)
The Core Work
• Manage client projects assigned through SOWs, partnering with a Business Analyst and the client to scope requirements and design a solution that holds up.
• Lead or participate in client calls to gather and clarify project requirements, then build it in Practifi following a defined development lifecycle.
• Run training sessions and demos so clients understand what you built and why.
• Serve as an escalation point for the Support team on configuration questions involving custom orgs, and as a direct escalation point for MSP clients on complex or urgent issues.
The Reality Check
• You'll learn the specifics of Practifi's platform (JSON Components, Process Types, Task Templates, Lookup Rollup Summaries) even if you already know Salesforce cold. You'll have a Practibuddy mentor from day one and Senior Technical Consultants to lean on for the harder builds.
• Some weeks are heads-down building. Others are back-to-back client calls and training sessions. Both are part of the job.
The Growth Part
• Learnbucks, our annual education stipend, is yours to use on certifications or courses that sharpen your skills.
• This role has a clear next step to Senior Technical Consultant, and the escalation and client-facing work you'll do here builds the track record to get there.
What We're Really Looking For
The Must-Haves
• Salesforce Admin I Certification.
• Experience configuring Salesforce and Practifi objects, fields, page layouts, and Lightning Pages, plus building screen flows and record-triggered flows of moderate complexity.
• Comfort with Data Loader, Salesforce Inspector, and Dev Console, including querying and updating records directly in the data model.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce's security model (Profiles, Roles, Permission Sets, Custom Permissions, Divisions) and the ability to configure it to a client's requirements.
The Nice-to-Haves
• Prior experience in wealth management, financial advisory, or fintech SaaS.
• Experience running client-facing training sessions or demos.
• Exposure to platform upgrade or migration projects.
The More Important Stuff
• You're genuinely curious about how systems fit together, and you ask questions instead of guessing.
• You can explain a technical decision to a non-technical client without talking down to them.
• You take ownership of your projects and communicate proactively when something's off track, rather than waiting to be asked.
What Taking This Leap Gets You
The Practical Stuff
• Base salary: $85,000 to $110,000, depending on experience. No mystery math, just a real range.
• 20 days of Paid Leave, 10 sick days, 3 personal days, and 3 volunteering days, all available from day one.
The Cultural Stuff
• A Practibuddy mentor from day one, so you're never figuring things out alone.
• Bi-annual summits in Chicago to connect with the team in person.
• Remote-first that actually means remote-first, not remote-first-until-someone-questions-it.
Living Our Values Daily
• Growth: You'll ramp up on our platform and grow toward Senior Technical Consultant, backed by Learnbucks and a Practibuddy mentor.
• Collaboration: You'll work in a true paired model with your Business Analyst partner and lean on Senior Technical Consultants for complex builds.
• Transparency: You'll tell clients what's realistic and what isn't, even when the easier answer would be to just say yes.
• Curiosity: You'll ask why a client's process works the way it does before you build around it.
• Integrity: You'll own your work, including telling a client the truth about a deadline or a technical limitation.
