Senior Manager, Project Management Office

The Role

ReUp has reached the stage where strong individual teams are no longer enough on their own. Strategic priorities are set at the executive level — but turning those decisions into coordinated, visible, on-track execution across 170 people requires dedicated infrastructure. That infrastructure doesn’t exist yet. This role builds it.

The Senior Manager of PMO is a founding role — the highest-level PMO position at ReUp — reporting to the CFO and operating as a peer to department heads. You will design and run the project management function from scratch: building the frameworks, systems, and cadences that give the organization confidence that what has been decided is actually getting done, and serving as a trusted upward signal to leadership when capacity or execution risks emerge.

This role does not set organizational priorities — that happens at the C-suite. What it does is ensure those priorities are translated into executable plans, tracked rigorously, and delivered consistently. You will inherit one Project Manager and hire one Program Manager within the first six months, building a small but capable team as you establish the function.

What we do

Founded in 2015, ReUp Education is the only organization that focuses exclusively on helping colleges and universities engage and re-enroll the more than 40 million US residents who have “stopped out” and support them until graduation, through our patented technology-enabled service. To date, we have re-enrolled over 57,000 students for our university partners. As of July 2025, ReUp Education partners with 140 active schools and a total of 1.78 million learners. To date, ReUp Education has helped 7,960 learners graduate. Today we build regional marketplaces to connect the supply of educational opportunities with the demand for skilled and credentialed workforce professionals.

What you’ll do

  • Build the PMO from scratch — design and implement the foundational systems, templates, processes, and cadences that define how ReUp tracks and manages cross-functional project work
  • Lead and develop a two-person team from day one — manage an inherited Project Manager and hire one Program Manager within the first six months
  • Translate C-suite priorities into executable plans — define scope, owners, milestones, dependencies, and timelines for every major cross-functional initiative
  • Drive cross-functional execution — manage projects that span multiple departments, ensuring handoffs are clear, dependencies are tracked, and blockers get resolved rather than stalled
  • Create enterprise-wide visibility — develop lightweight reporting that gives department heads and the CFO a clear, current view of initiative status, risks, and upcoming dependencies
  • Drive accountability — track action items and commitments from leadership forums, follow up on progress, and close the gap between what gets decided and what actually gets done
  • Surface risks and capacity constraints upward — proactively flag execution risks, resource conflicts, and timeline issues to the CFO and C-suite before they become crises
  • Run the PMO operating cadence — own project kick-offs, status reporting, milestone reviews, and retrospectives as standard practice across the portfolio
  • Continuously improve — assess friction in planning and execution processes and build for where ReUp is going at $50M–$100M ARR, not just where it is today

Qualifications

Research shows that women and people from underrepresented groups often only apply to jobs if they meet all of the qualifications. However, no one ever meets 100% of the qualifications. ReUp encourages you to break that statistic and to apply. We look forward to your application.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above, commensurate with experience
  • 7–10 years of experience in project management, program management, operations, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience building or formalizing project management infrastructure — templates, systems, reporting cadences — in an environment that lacked them
  • Track record of driving cross-functional execution in a matrixed environment where influence mattered more than authority
  • Experience managing and developing PM-level talent; comfortable leading a small team while remaining hands-on with the work
  • Strong facilitation skills — can align department-level stakeholders, navigate competing priorities calmly, and keep projects moving without dominating the room
  • Highly organized with the ability to hold complexity across multiple simultaneous initiatives without dropping threads
  • Pragmatic systems thinker who defaults to right-sized process — not comprehensive frameworks for their own sake
  • Clear, concise written communicator; able to translate project complexity into crisp status updates for leadership
  • Comfortable operating in a PE-backed, growth-stage environment where resources are finite and pace is high
