About the role

Benefits are a core component of the EOR service, encompassing medical, ancillary, workers’ compensation, pension, and other country-specific benefit programs that support employees around the world. The Senior Manager, Global Benefits will lead Rippling EOR’s global benefits function, managing a team of Global Benefits Managers responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of country-level benefits programs. This includes benefits strategy, plan design, renewals, pricing, vendor management, system configuration, and issue resolution, ensuring programs are effectively designed, implemented, and maintained across the global portfolio.

This is a senior leadership role that requires operating at both strategic and executional levels: setting the vision for how Rippling's benefits offerings compete globally, while also rolling up sleeves to drive complex multi-country renewals, broker negotiations, and cross-functional product launches. The Senior Manager partners directly with Operations, Sales, Product, Engineering, Payroll, Finance, and Legal to ensure benefits programs are accurate, compliant, scalable, cost-effective, and well-supported in the Rippling platform.

What is an Employer of Record (EOR)?

An Employer of Record (EOR) is a service provider that allows companies to legally hire and work with employees in foreign countries without establishing their own legal entity in that country. This is made possible through a legal arrangement where the EOR establishes its own legal entity in the country and hires employees on behalf of the client company. This arrangement offers a viable solution for companies that wish to expand their global reach without investing in setting up a legal entity in every country where they operate.

What you will do

  • Strategy & Leadership
    • Define and execute Rippling's global EOR benefits strategy across 40+ countries, ensuring offerings are competitive, compliant, and cost-effective relative to market and competitors
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Global Benefits Managers, setting priorities, managing performance, and ensuring coverage across all country portfolios
    • Drive the annual and multi-year benefits roadmap, including new country launches, plan enhancements, carrier consolidation, and cost optimization initiatives
    • Serve as the escalation point for complex benefits issues, incidents, and cross-functional decisions
  • Renewals & Vendor Management
    • Own the global renewal calendar and ensure all country renewals are executed on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to customers and employees
    • Manage strategic broker and carrier relationships (e.g., Allianz, Sterling, Lockton, local market carriers), including contract negotiations, performance management, and relationship development
    • Lead complex, multi-geo renewals involving 40+ countries simultaneously, coordinating across brokers, engineering, product, and operations
    • Evaluate and onboard new carriers and brokers to improve coverage, reduce cost, or expand into new markets
  • Operations & Cross-Functional Partnership
    • Partner with Product and Engineering on benefits system design, configuration, automation, and new country launches to ensure benefits are accurately built and maintained in the Rippling platform
    • Drive operational excellence across the benefits function: build and improve processes, documentation, SOPs, and tooling to support scale, accuracy, and efficiency
    • Own the benefits reconciliation process, ensuring billing, payments, and enrollment data are accurate across all markets
    • Partner with Payroll, Finance, and Operations to ensure enrollment, billing, payments, and taxation processes are operationally sound
    • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance on regulatory changes, statutory requirements, and risk mitigation across all countries of operation
  • Communication & Enablement
    • Develop and own the benefits communication strategy for EOR employees and customers, including renewal comms, benefits guides, and onboarding materials
    • Educate and enable internal teams (Operations, Support, Implementation, Sales, and Customer Success) on country-specific benefits landscapes and program details
    • Represent the Global Benefits function in cross-functional leadership forums and planning processes

What you will need

  • 10+ years of experience in global benefits, benefits consulting, or an in-house HR/benefits leadership function within a fast-paced, high-growth organization
  • 3+ years of people management experience, with demonstrated ability to build, develop, and lead a high-performing team
  • Proven track record of independently owning and delivering complex programs from strategy through execution
  • Strong commercial acumen: experience with pricing, cost modeling, carrier negotiations, and margin management
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams across different time zones and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguity, make sound judgment calls, and drive decisions with limited guidance at a senior level
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal stakeholders without direct authority
  • High degree of ownership, accountability, and persistence in driving work to completion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex benefits information for diverse audiences (employees, customers, executives)
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
