Southeast Asian Development Center (SEADC) is a San Francisco nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster a healthy, thriving, and self-sufficient Southeast Asian American community. Founded in 1977 in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District, SEADC serves children, youth, adults, and families through culturally responsive programs and services.

SEADC delivers services through two primary program areas: Youth Development and Community and Wellness. Our programs provide youth development, mental health and wellness services, resource navigation, and culturally and linguistically responsive support to help individuals and families access resources, strengthen skills, and improve their well-being.

Summary of Position

The Project Coordinator supports the coordination, implementation, and delivery of projects within the SEADC’s Community and Wellness program area. The position currently plays a key role in the Southeast Asian Mental Health Initiative (SEAMHI), coordinating SEADC’s work with partner organizations to support cohesive program planning, implementation, data collection, and service delivery. The position also supports the Southeast Asian Support Services project and other Community and Wellness activities as assigned.

The Project Coordinator provides both administrative and direct service support, including coordinating project goals and deliverables, engaging clients in activities that promote mental health and wellness, and connecting clients to appropriate internal and external programs, services, and community resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Direct Service (60%) 

  • Conduct community outreach on health and wellness topics and promote relevant resources and SEADC/SEAMHI services.
  • Develop and update outreach materials and flyers. 
  • Conduct client intake and screening; identify strengths, needs, and goals; complete required forms; and connect clients to appropriate internal and external services. 
  • Support client health and wellness by providing health and risk-reduction education and connecting clients to appropriate health, social, and community services.
  • Coordinate and facilitate wellness activities, workshops, and presentations.
  • Coordinate mental health trainings and workshops with funders, licensed therapists, and other partners. 
  • Provide case management, service coordination, and follow-up as needed. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Administration (40%) 

  • Support implementation and integration of SEADC, CCDI, LSA, and VFS workplans by coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and monitoring project milestones. 
  • Coordinate SEAMHI workgroup meetings, including scheduling, logistics, and meeting documentation. 
  • Assist with managing program supplies, purchases, and expenses within the approved budget. 
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records, data collection, and reporting in Salesforce and other required systems, in compliance with funder and SEADC requirements.
  • Attend funder, program, and professional development trainings as required. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field required; or at least two years of relevant work experience in a similar setting. 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bilingual in a Southeast Asian language (Khmer, Lao, Thai, or Vietnamese). 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and cultural competency with Southeast Asian communities.
  • Knowledge of services and resources available to children, youth, and families in San Francisco. 
  • Experience conducting client interviews, screenings, and assessments.
  • Experience working with diverse and underserved populations, including youth, adults, low-income individuals, immigrants, and English language learners. 
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with data entry and CRM systems; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms and communications platforms such as Microsoft Teams.

Additional Qualities and Requirements: 

  • Passion for the organization's mission and values. 
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and organizational events outside regular business hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, and travel locally as required. This includes participation in the annual staff strategic planning offsite, staff appreciation event and fundraising events.
  • Successfully complete fingerprinting background check and TB clearance before start date.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
