Position Summary
The Information Systems Developer designs, develops, implements, integrates, and maintains enterprise software solutions that support SOL Fiber's business operations. Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, this position develops custom applications, automates business processes, integrates enterprise platforms, and supports internal software systems that improve operational efficiency and data integrity.
The Information Systems Developer collaborates closely with interdepartmental personnel to develop scalable software solutions, application programming interfaces (APIs), automation workflows, reporting tools, and enterprise integrations supporting the organization's long-term technology strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain custom software applications and enterprise solutions.
2. Develop integrations between ERPNext, Microsoft 365, ArcGIS Enterprise, NetBox, Entra ID, Huntress, NinjaOne, and other enterprise platforms.
3. Build and maintain REST APIs, web services, middleware, and system integrations.
4. Develop workflow automation using approved automation platforms and scripting languages.
5. Create dashboards, reports, and data visualizations supporting operational and executive decision-making.
6. Participate in application architecture, database design, and system planning.
7. Develop and maintain SQL databases, stored procedures, and data synchronization processes.
8. Troubleshoot software defects, integration failures, and application performance issues.
9. Maintain source code repositories, version control, deployment documentation, and technical documentation.
10. Conduct software testing, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing activities.
11. Support software deployments, upgrades, and change management processes.
12. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
13. Ensure software solutions comply with company cybersecurity policies, coding standards, and data governance requirements.
14. Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enterprise systems.

The Information Systems Developer develops and maintains the software systems that support SOL Fiber's internal business operations. Unlike Network Engineers who design communications infrastructure or Systems Administrators who manage computing environments, this position focuses on software engineering, application development, enterprise integrations, database development, workflow automation, and business process optimization.

Position Requirements
Education, Training, and Experience
1. High school graduation, General Education Development (GED), foreign equivalency, or two years working.
2. Minimum three years of professional software development experience.
3. Experience developing enterprise business applications.
4. Experience with relational databases and API development.
5. Experience with source control and software lifecycle management.
Licenses and Certifications
1. A valid driver’s license that allows the employee to legally operate a motor vehicle in the United States. License must be maintained for the duration of the assignment.
2. Must obtain OSHA 10 Hour General Industry within 30 days of hire.
3. Must possess Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire and must be maintained for the duration of the assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience developing applications for telecommunications or utility companies.
2. Experience with ERPNext/Frappe Framework customization.
3. Experience integrating Microsoft Graph API, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.
4. Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise APIs and GIS application development.
5. Experience with NetBox APIs.
6. Experience using Docker, Linux, and containerized application deployment.
7. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated software deployment.
8. Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools.
