Careers at Soluna

People Operations Coordinator

Soluna is on a mission to solve one of renewable energy’s biggest challenges: wasted power. Our data centers convert excess solar, hydro, and wind energy into productive computational work, such as Bitcoin mining, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. By co-locating with renewable power sources, we bring demand directly to the source, helping power plants increase revenue while contributing more megawatts to the grid.

We are looking for a People Operations Coordinator to join our world-class team.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who thrives on building efficient processes, supporting people, and keeping the engine running. At Soluna, our employees are the internal clients of the People team, so a Customer Service mindset is necessary. You will be the connective tissue across the full employee lifecycle — from the moment we post a role, through onboarding, and into the day-to-day rhythms of a fast-moving company. Based in Texas, you will play a critical role supporting our growing operations in the region while partnering with the broader team.

You will report to the Chief People Officer and partner closely with Finance, Legal, and functional leaders across the organization. This is an individual contributor role with significant ownership and real opportunity to grow.

What You'll Do

Payroll & HR Administration

  • Track timesheet submissions and process payroll each cycle in coordination with Finance; ensure submissions are accurate and on time.
  • Maintain employee records in Rippling; process status changes, leave tracking, benefits enrollments, and off-cycle adjustments
  • Answer employee questions about payroll and benefits; escalate issues as needed.
  • Maintain state employment tax relationships: help process registrations, tax account maintenance, and agency correspondence across all states where Soluna employs
  • Serve as the go-to Rippling resource: handle day-to-day system questions, help employees use self-service features, and recommend system usage enhancements

Recruiting & Talent Coordination

  • Support recruiting activity across all active roles: scheduling interviews, managing candidate communications, and maintaining ATS (Rippling) data integrity
  • Prepare interview materials, scorecards, and debrief logistics; keep the process moving efficiently for candidates and interviewers alike
  • Track pipeline metrics and surface bottlenecks to the CPO

Onboarding, Offboarding & Employee Support

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding: collect documentation, draft offer letters, run background checks, and work with IT on equipment and systems access.
  • Coordinate offboarding: departure paperwork, systems removal, equipment return, and final pay coordination.
  • Be a first point of contact for employee questions on policies, benefits, and HR processes; know when to resolve and when to escalate.

Community Engagement & Employer Brand

  • Partner with Marketing to represent Soluna at career fairs, university events, and community hiring initiatives; build relationships that strengthen our local recruiting pipeline
  • Support relationships with regional colleges, workforce development organizations, and community partners

Offsite & Event Coordination

  • Assist in the planning and execution of company offsites, all-hands events, and team gatherings: assist with venue sourcing, travel coordination, logistics, and on-site execution
  • Handle travel arrangements and logistics for candidates and new hires relocating to or visiting Soluna sites

People Operations Calendar & Timeline Maintenance

  • Maintain the People Operations master calendar: track new hire start dates, onboarding milestones, offboarding timelines, benefits open enrollment windows, annual compliance training, performance review cycles and 30-60-90 check-ins
  • Flag upcoming milestones to the CPO and relevant stakeholders in advance

What You Bring

  • 2-4 years of experience in People Operations, HR coordination, or a related role; startup or high-growth environment preferred
  • Hands-on payroll experience required; familiarity with Rippling or similar PEO HRIS/ATS platforms strongly preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail — you catch things before they become problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; you can represent Soluna professionally in any setting
  • Customer Service sensibilities, with problem solving support skills
  • A growth mindset. Genuine curiosity about people and a desire to build programs, not just maintain them
  • Ability to hold confidentiality with discretion and professionalism
  • Comfort working across a small, fast-moving team where priorities shift and initiative is rewarded
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in HR, Business, Communications, or a related field
  • Ability and willingness to travel to Soluna Data Center sites across the state of Texas
