Installation Site Specialist

STARK is seeking an Installation Site Specialist to support our installation operations by ensuring projects are properly evaluated, measured, planned, and documented prior to installation. This full-time position plays a critical role in identifying installation requirements early in the sales process to help reduce project delays, material shortages, rework, and installation-day issues.

Job Summary:

The Installation Site Specialist will serve as the technical liaison between Sales, customers, designers, contractors, and Installation Operations. This role is responsible for conducting site surveys, measuring installation areas, developing installation layouts, determining material requirements, assessing site conditions, and preparing complete technical installation packages to support accurate quoting and successful project execution.


The ideal candidate will have strong carpet and flooring knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to identify and communicate potential installation challenges before work begins.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site surveys at residential and commercial project locations.
  • Measure installation areas and document all relevant field dimensions.
  • Create scaled sketches, layouts, and technical documentation for carpet and flooring projects.
  • Develop installation layouts, including carpet direction, pattern orientation, and seam placement.
  • Determine appropriate installation methods based on project and site conditions.
  • Evaluate transitions, access requirements, substrate conditions, and overall installation feasibility.
  • Perform material takeoffs and calculate required quantities, supplies, adhesives, and related materials.
  • Assess site conditions that may impact installation quality, scheduling, labor, or safety.
  • Identify substrate preparation requirements, access limitations, protection requirements, and other potential installation challenges.
  • Meet with homeowners, designers, contractors, and other project stakeholders during site visits to discuss installation requirements and limitations.
  • Gather and document project requirements, approvals, assumptions, and outstanding issues.
  • Communicate site findings and technical requirements clearly to Sales and Installation Operations teams.
  • Prepare and maintain complete technical installation packages, including measurements, layouts, photographs, and site observations.
  • Identify potential installation risks early and escalate concerns that may affect project feasibility or customer expectations.
  • Support continuous process improvement through consistent reporting and feedback.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in flooring, carpet installation, construction, field operations, estimating, or project planning.
  • Strong understanding of carpet and flooring installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans, construction drawings, and project specifications.
  • Proficiency in measuring spaces and performing material takeoffs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
  • Experience with broadloom carpet installations preferred.
  • Knowledge of seam planning, pattern matching, substrate preparation, and flooring materials preferred.
  • Experience using digital measuring, drawing, or layout software preferred.
  • Construction, installation, or project management background preferred.
