About the role

  • We are seeking a licensed, experienced, communicative, and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider—Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA)—to join Stella. Our integrated clinical model brings together psychiatry, psychotherapy, and interventional treatments to deliver personalized care that supports meaningful clinical improvement and sustained wellbeing.

What you'll do

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to understand each patient’s history, symptoms, goals, and readiness for care.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans using Stella’s Transformative Care framework and Compass model.
  • Present therapeutic and interventional treatment options using Stella’s Pathways approach to support informed, collaborative decision-making.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatment plans through ongoing follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with therapists, providers, Patient Care Coordinators, and clinic teams to integrate psychiatric care, psychotherapy, and interventional treatments.
  • Guide patients to appropriate services and levels of care, including psychotherapy and Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP), when clinically indicated.
  • Support patients receiving Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), esketamine (Spravato), ketamine therapy, Dual Sympathetic Reset (DSR), and other evidence-based interventional treatments through clinical assessment and coordinated care.
  • Deliver trauma-informed care and communicate respectfully and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, huddles, ongoing learning, and knowledge sharing.
  • Complete accurate, compliant clinical documentation within 24 hours of each encounter.
  • Protect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Maintain active licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements, and support credentialing and payer enrollment processes.
  • Complete TMS cross-training and maintain competency to support treatment sessions when needed.
  • Maintain reliable clinic schedules and contribute to a positive patient experience and strong patient satisfaction and Net Promoter Score (NPS) outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement, clinical process development, community outreach, and referral relationship development.
  • Collaborate with clinic leadership and operational teams to support clinic performance and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA), with authority to practice in the applicable state.
  • DEA registration with Schedule II–V prescriptive authority and the ability to obtain or maintain required state controlled substance registrations.
  • At least one year of mental health experience as a PMHNP or PA.
  • Experience providing psychiatric care in behavioral health settings, including psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and psychotropic medication management.
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology.
  • Experience with evidence-based interventional mental health treatments, such as ketamine therapy, esketamine (Spravato), TMS, or Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB), or the clinical aptitude and willingness to develop proficiency.
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications and training for Stella’s interventional treatments.
  • Enrollment in and ongoing compliance with applicable Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) programs, including for esketamine (Spravato), as required.
  • Willingness to complete BrainsWay Deep TMS training and other required clinical training.
  • Trauma-informed care experience.
  • Prior RN experience for NP candidates.
