Ignite Education Solutions is hiring Van Ride & School Support to work with students in the Turkeyfoot Valley School District.

What are the duties and responsibilities?

Van Assistance:

• Accompany students on morning and afternoon van rides.
• Monitor behavior of students on van rides as needed.

School Support:

• Based upon education level, employee may assist in the school building in a variety of different ways, including but not limited to:
• • Assist students with Activities of Daily Living
  • Provide physical and emotional support

• • Follow individual care plans developed in collaboration with teachers, school nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure that the unique needs of each student are met.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to facilitate students' participation in classroom activities.

• • Encourage and empower students to develop and maintain independence in daily activities whenever possible.

• • Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the absent teacher.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.

• • Encourage a positive and respectful atmosphere for effective learning.

• • Supervise students during class time, transitions, and other school-related activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.

• • Communicate effectively with students, school staff, and administrators.
  • Provide feedback on the day's activities and report any issues or concerns to the regular teacher or school administration.

• • Adhere to school and district policies and procedures.
  • Implement emergency procedures when necessary.

• • Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Uphold high standards of behavior and ethics.

• • Be flexible and adaptable to different grade levels, subjects, students, and school environments.

What are the required qualifications?

• High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
• A Bachelor's Degree in any subject is welcomed and appreciated.
• Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including mandated reporter training, physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
• Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
• Previous experience working with individuals with special needs or disabilities is preferred.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with diverse needs.
• Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with a team, and adapt to changing situations.
• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information.
