Position Overview

Position Title: Director of Product Management

Organizational Relationship: Vice President, Product

Job Family: Product Management

Managerial Responsibilities: Direct | Product Managers

Classification: Exempt | Full-Time

Location: Lindon, Utah

General Summary

The Director of Product Management leads the product management team and owns the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Vyne’s dental revenue cycle management (RCM) software portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President, Product, this leader is fully accountable for the team’s commitments: setting priorities, holding the roadmap, meeting delivery dates, and making sure what ships measurably improves customer outcomes and company growth.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines sound product judgment, commercial discipline, and strong people leadership with hands-on AI fluency. The Director will use AI to change how the team discovers, decides, and delivers, and will build products that use AI to better serve dental support organizations (DSOs), group practices, and their patients.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the portfolio strategy and 12-month roadmap, aligned to company goals, the VP, Product, and the ELT. Make and communicate prioritization, sequencing, and build/buy/partner decisions.
  • Define target markets, segmentation, and commercial potential for each product, and set clear positioning against competitors.
  • Track customer needs, market trends, competitor products, and payer and regulatory shifts that affect dental RCM, and translate them into roadmap decisions.

Delivery & Accountability

  • Hold full accountability for the team’s commitments: roadmap adherence, release timelines, scope, and quality.
  • Run a consistent operating cadence (planning, status reporting, risk escalation) that surfaces slippage early and brings options and a recommendation, not just problems.
  • Partner with Engineering, QA, Design, Support, Operations, and Finance to resolve trade-offs between speed, quality, user experience, and customer expectations.
  • Define product KPIs (adoption, retention, ARR, customer satisfaction) and report on them quarterly to the VP, Product and ELT.
  • Ensure integration, data, and compliance requirements (practice management systems, clearinghouse and EDI connectivity, payer connectivity, HIPAA/PHI) are built into product requirements from the start.

Commercial & Go-to-Market

  • Own pricing and packaging for the portfolio, and the commercial performance of each product (ARR, attach rate, retention, margin contribution).
  • Lead go-to-market planning with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, including launch readiness, field enablement, and post-launch adoption.
  • Present product strategy, performance, and trade-offs clearly to senior executives, sales teams, and customers.

Customer & Market Insight

  • Run a structured customer insight program (advisory boards, win/loss analysis, usage data, support trends) and convert findings into prioritized capabilities and enhancements.
  • Stay close to customers through regular direct conversations, and make sure the team does the same.

AI Strategy & Enablement

  • Set the AI product strategy for the portfolio: identify where AI and automation create the most customer value in dental RCM workflows, then prioritize, validate, and deliver.
  • Use AI daily in your own work and drive adoption across the team, including discovery synthesis, requirements and spec writing, data analysis, competitive research, and release communications, with measurable gains in cycle time and quality.
  • Establish team standards for responsible AI use, including data privacy, PHI/HIPAA protection, validation of outputs, and human review.
  • Partner with Engineering and technology leadership on AI architecture, vendor evaluation, and build/buy decisions.
  • Measure and report the impact of AI on team productivity, delivery speed, and customer outcomes.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of product managers: set clear expectations and goals, manage performance, hire, and build succession.
  • Raise the bar on product craft across the team, including discovery, prioritization, written specifications, stakeholder communication, and data-informed decisions.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and clear decision-making. Manage team capacity and budget.

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support business and organizational objectives.

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8–10+ years in product management, including 3–5+ years directly leading product managers at the senior manager or director level.
  • Proven record of owning a roadmap and delivering enterprise SaaS or platform products on time, with specific examples of accountability for results.
  • Experience in dental, DSO, or healthcare RCM, practice management, or payer connectivity software. Dental or DSO experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on AI fluency: daily use of generative AI tools in your own work, plus experience shipping AI-enabled product capabilities or driving measurable AI adoption across a team. Candidates should be able to describe specific examples and results.
  • Experience developing and executing go-to-market, pricing, and packaging strategy with senior-level counterparts.
  • Technical fluency across SaaS architecture, APIs, integrations, and data, sufficient to partner credibly with engineering.
  • Data-informed decision making: ability to define success metrics, instrument products, and act on what the data shows.
  • Sound judgment in balancing speed, quality, user experience, and customer commitments, and the ability to communicate those trade-offs clearly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including presenting to senior executives, sales teams, and customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, EDI transaction sets (837/835), and payer connectivity.
