About the role

• The Repack Associate plays a hands on role in the creation and preparation of WeTheHobby branded repack products. This position is responsible for selecting and preparing slabs, assembling products, and maintaining accurate inventory and packaging standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong sports card knowledge across major sports, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while handling high value collectibles with care and accuracy.

What you'll do

• Utilize deep knowledge of the sports card and memorabilia industry, including player performance, hobby trends, product hierarchy, and collector demand across major sports.
• Digitally and manually build custom repack products while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and presentation quality standards are met.
• Pull, inspect, clean, and prepare graded cards and slabs for packaging and final assembly.
• Package products accurately using heat seal and shrink wrap equipment while maintaining company quality and presentation standards.
• Apply labels, seals, and packaging materials accurately to ensure proper product tracking and inventory control.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory adjustments, spreadsheet updates, and product tracking as needed.
• Communicate proactively with Repack leadership regarding inventory needs, product discrepancies, damaged items, or operational concerns.
• Follow directions from department leadership regarding product builds, card selection, packaging priorities, and workflow execution.
• Maintain exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of product handling, packaging, inventory management, and quality control.
• Support a clean, organized, and safe work environment while handling high value collectibles and inventory.
• Perform other duties and operational support tasks as assigned.

Candidate qualities:

• Strong organizational and communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Sports knowledge
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Knowledge of third-party grading services
• 3-5 years of sports card experience as a professional, dealer or collector (nice to have)

Qualifications

• Experience in sports, trading cards, or collectibles preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and exceptional attention to details with customers via phone/text/email.
• Attentive and strong multi-tasking capabilities
• Willing and able to work non-traditional business hours (nighttime/weekends)
• Thrives in an entrepreneurial, hyper-growth environment where priorities evolve regularly, and decisions are made quickly

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Regular use of hands/fingers for computer work (typing, clicking, etc.).
• Walking within offices or warehouse setting as needed.
• Lift and carry items such as product cases, shipping and receiving equipment, and small office equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Navigate a typical office setting, including attending in-person meetings or collaborating across departments • Regularly bend, stoop, reach above head or ascend stairs in an office environment

Compensation & Schedule:

• The exempt rate for this position is $22 per hour, based on location in Rochester, NY, and experience.
• General schedule is Wednesday – Sunday from 9:00am – 5:30pm • Reports directly to Carl Palombi, Director of Repack
