About the role


This role introduces students to research methods, content development, and educational programming. The participant will support the creation of community-focused resources that promote learning and civic engagement.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Gather research sources and reading materials
  • Summarize key findings and prepare briefing notes
  • Assist with drafting written content and proofreading
  • Support workshops by preparing educational materials
  • Help organize research files and content resources


Qualifications/Required Skills:

  • Foundational understanding of Islamic disciplines and scholarship; formal Islamic training is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with Islamic thought, values, and scholarship, with alignment to the mission and broader needs of the Ummah.
  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills, including the ability to engage with academic and secular research sources.
  • Excellent written communication and proofreading skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable learning new topics and working with educational content
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience with academic research, writing, student publications, or community projects is an asset
  • Interest in education, research, community development, or nonprofit work



This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs grant program. In order to participate the candidate must:

  • Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the funded position.
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status   has been granted/conferred.
  • Have a valid SIN
