About the opportunity
We are a fast-paced, growing fusion company and need a high-bandwidth People Ops & Talent Specialist to partner directly with our VP of People. This isn't just a "maintenance" role; you will be part of the engine behind our growth. You’ll own the full-cycle recruiting for several non-technical teams while expanding the foundational HR infrastructure that allows us to grow.

Core Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition (50%)

  • Scale the Team: Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for several open roles at a time, across corporate functions.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Build diverse talent pipelines using advanced sourcing tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, etc.) and leverage your network in the tech ecosystem.
  • Hiring Manager Partnership: Act as a talent advisor to department heads, helping them define "what good looks like" and streamlining the interview process for speed and quality.
  • Employer Branding: Enhance our presence on Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and tech job boards to tell our story to passive candidates.

People Ops (50%)

  • V2 Process Building: Assist the VP of People in enhancing our performance, career, and learning resources.
  • Seamless Onboarding: Own the "New Hire Experience," ensuring every employee is integrated into our culture from Day 1.
  • Data & Analytics: Maintain the integrity of our ATS and HRIS to provide real-time metrics.
  • Culture Champion: Execute internal engagement initiatives (all-hands support, offsites, pulse surveys) to maintain our culture during rapid headcount growth.

The Ideal Profile

  • The Experience: 3+ years of experience in a high-growth tech environment. You’ve seen what "good" looks like at scale but aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves in the "scrappy" phase.
  • Technical Literacy: You can learn to speak the language of audiences including operations professionals, scientists, technicians, and engineers.
  • Growth Mindset: You thrive in ambiguity and view "we don't have a process for that yet" as an opportunity to build one.
  • The "VP Partner" Mentality: You are highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing confidential information with total discretion.

While doing meaningful work is rewarding in itself, Zap Energy also offers the following:

  • Competitive compensation and equity
  • Matching retirement contributions
  • Premium health insurance
  • Flexible vacation and paid company holidays

Employment may be conditioned upon the ability to obtain export authorization. Estimated salary range: $80,000-110,000 annually. Candidates may be considered for other positions at Zap Energy and actual salary will be based on relevant education, experience, and other qualifications. Range is published in accordance with Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act.
