Dedham Health HYDRA Swim Team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Swim Coach to join our growing program. We have a proud history of competing at the Senior Championship and Age Group levels, and we are looking for a motivated individual to help us continue this tradition of excellence.

Mission:  The Dedham Health Hydra Swim Team is dedicated to providing swimmers of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to reach their highest potential in both the sport of swimming and personal development. Through expert coaching, structured training, and a supportive environment, we strive to cultivate fast swimmers, instill lifelong skills, and promote values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Our focus is on fostering a positive experience where athletes grow in character, achieve their personal goals, and embrace the joy of competitive swimming. 

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coach the novice and developmental training groups
• Work collaboratively with coaches and team staff to develop and implement training plans
• Utilize Team Unify and Hytek software applications for team management and meet entries
• Provide a positive and encouraging environment for swimmers of all ages and skill levels
• Perform administrative duties (8-10 hours per week) including parent communication, swimmer metrics, and contribution to the team’s developing social media presence. Other administrative duties to be assigned. 
• Participate and engage in program season and future planning exercises.
• There is also the opportunity to make significant additional income through swim lessons and clinics

Qualifications:

• Current USA Swimming Coach Certification
• All required certifications as per USA Swimming and New England Swimming LSC, including:
• • Athlete Protection Training
  • Background Check
  • Foundations of Coaching 101 and 201
  • Rules and Regulations for Coaches
  • Concussion Protocol Training
• Proven experience as a USA-S coach
• Proficiency in Team Unify, Hytek, Commit Swimming software applications
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with children of all ages
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and competitive swimming environment
