Our entire team represents the company on the front lines, and all members work as a team to fulfill the needs of our customers. The Excavation Support person is a laborer who performs a variety of manual tasks outdoors in all weather conditions; including digging, laying conduit, helping with machinery, etc. This is all done while working in a safe and effective manner.


Deeply Digital's outside plant focuses primarily on placing underground and aerial fiber for telecommunications. Its services include line, coaxial, and optical fiber cable placement, splicing, and home installation.

The Sr. Network Engineer position involves collaborating with team members, adhering to company policies, and striving to achieve both individual and collective goals. Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with proven expertise in Cisco networking, holding an active CCIE certification (or equivalent level experience). The ideal candidate will be deeply familiar with Segment Routing (SR), EVPN, and also bring experience with MikroTik and Calix platforms.
This role involves advanced architecture and operational responsibilities across service providers and enterprise networks, including fiber access technologies, aggregation, and backbone routing. As a senior member of the team, you will drive network innovation, mentor engineers, and serve as an escalation point for complex issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecture & Design 

- Lead the design and deployment of scalable IP/MPLS networks leveraging SR-MPLS/SRv6 and EVPN/VXLAN.
- Develop advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 services, including broadband and wholesale transport.
- Design and integrate Calix GPON/XGS-PON platforms with routing/aggregation layers.
- Implement MikroTik edge and CPE solutions in multi-service provider environments.

  • Implementation & Operations 

- Deploy and support Cisco (IOS XR/IOS XE/NX-OS), MikroTik (RouterOS/CCR/CRS), and Calix platforms (AXOS, E7, ONTs).
- Troubleshoot complex EVPN, BGP, and Segment Routing control-plane/data-plane issues.
- Manage end-to-end access and aggregation environments, including fiber, transport, and subscriber edge.
- Conduct capacity planning and performance optimization for multi-vendor environments.

  • Leadership & Mentorship 

- Act as a senior escalation point for network engineering and operations.
- Mentor and train junior engineers on Cisco SR/EVPN, MikroTik configuration, and Calix access integration.
- Establish engineering best practices, documentation, and operational standards.

  • Collaboration 

- Partner with NOC, Systems, Security, and Architecture teams to deliver resilient network services.
- Work directly with vendors (Cisco, MikroTik, Calix) on escalated support and interoperability testing.
- Support field and customer-facing teams with advanced technical guidance.

  • Required Qualifications 

- Certification: Cisco CCIE (Service Provider, Routing & Switching, or Enterprise Infrastructure) – active or equivalent expert-level experience.
- Core Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of MPLS, SR-MPLS/SRv6, EVPN/VXLAN, and large-scale routing.
  • Strong BGP, IS-IS, and OSPF design and troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on experience with MikroTik RouterOS/CRS/CCR platforms (edge, BNG, CPE).
  • Familiarity with Calix access platforms (E7, AXOS, ONTs) and broadband integration.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex outages in multi-vendor environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications 

- Experience with network automation (Python, Ansible, NETCONF/YANG).
- Knowledge of EVPN IRB, ESI multihoming, MAC/IP mobility.
- Exposure to fiber broadband technologies (GPON, XGS-PON, NG-PON2).
- Familiarity with subscriber management (BNG/BRAS) and QoS policy enforcement.
- Multi-vendor interoperability experience (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Nokia, MikroTik, Calix).

The pay range for this role is:

100,000 - 120,000 USD per year (Deeply Digital)
