Job Overview
As a Democracy Docket Social Media Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in executing our digital strategy across platforms with a primary focus on creating planned, social-first content and fostering meaningful community engagement. With over 1.3 million followers, we’re looking for a creative, strategic communicator who is passionate about democracy and sees social media as a powerful tool for impact and storytelling.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, newsroom environments while staying intentional and collaborative. They live and breathe social media, understand the nuances of each platform, and are always thinking social-first. They’re confident navigating start-up culture and deeply committed to showing up authentically in conversations that center vulnerable communities. They will help translate complex legal decisions into compelling, accessible content — contributing to a team that turns information into action.

Work Environment
This is a full-time role based out of our Washington, D.C. office. We currently operate on a hybrid schedule, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays and in-office days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Salary Range: $72,000-$80,000
