Position Summary: 

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) Tech Team is hiring a Network Administrator to provide support to our DNC staff! We are looking for someone who can ensure that the Democratic National Committee runs smoothly from a technical perspective, and ensures our staff can fight to win elections in every zip code. The ideal candidate will provide Tier 3 network support to our staff at the DNC headquarters and remote staff across the country to solve their most pressing technical needs. This individual will report directly to the IT Director.



Role responsibilities:

  • Monitoring HQ network stability/performance, diagnosing and resolving network issues
  • Managing relationships with our upstream network service provider
  • Administering & managing all network equipment (firewalls, switches, APs, routers, etc)
  • Developing and maintaining network design/configuration
  • Supporting DNC activities outside of the HQ as required
  • Training the IT help desk to better support network related issues
  • Implementing network disaster recovery and redundancy planning
  • Consulting and assisting with consolidated campaign and convention network needs
  • Designing and implementing project BlueFrame, which will involve multiple locations


The successful candidate will have:

  • 3+ years experience with IT networking
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Experience pulling, parsing, and aggregating logs from devices and enterprise systems
  • Strong knowledge of route/switch and basic networking principles
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Prior experience as Help Desk Associate or Help Desk Technician
  • Prior experience with either of the following: Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Aruba, or Fortinet
  • Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission.


Qualifications:

  • Travel: The Network Administrator position will require travel, which could be up to 15% of the time.


Salary: The starting salary for the Network Administrator position is $97,850 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.


This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends.  This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
