About the role

DESRI is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join its team as senior manager of construction for the western region. This senior construction manager will support projects across the western United States. Senior construction managers (CMs) at DESRI supervise a team of project-specific CMs and acts as their mentor, problem solver, and escalation point. This Senior Construction Manager will work closely with internal groups including Development, Preconstruction, Engineering, and Project Delivery to ensure safe, high-quality, and timely project execution. The role requires strong leadership, field experience, and a collaborative mindset to support both technical and operational success at the site level. Senior CMs are key players in DESRI’s construction delivery model and are critical in bridging project execution with enterprise-level objectives. This individual will lead renewable energy construction projects in a collaborative, solutions-oriented, and fast-paced environment.


What you'll do

You’ll be responsible for overseeing and managing the strategic direction of construction projects. You’ll provide leadership and guidance to construction professionals to ensure projects are delivered on time, in line with safety standards, and of the appropriate quality. You’ll lead the execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects from pre-construction through closeout, overseeing project timelines, safety, quality, and budget. You’ll manage and mentor site-level construction managers, serve as a key escalation point for field issues, and coordinate closely with internal teams and contractors to ensure alignment and delivery. Responsibilities also include reviewing proposals and contract documents, staffing project sites, and implementing construction best practices across your region.


Qualifications

  • Applicants should have an undergraduate degree, an impressive background of academic and professional achievement, and at least ten years of construction experience in solar, wind, or battery storage.
  • A previous or existing focus on renewables construction, and an awareness of technical, commercial, regulatory, and operational issues, is required.
  • We’re looking for proactive, collaborative leaders with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of construction operations, field execution, and contractor management.
  • The expected annual base salary for this position is $160,000 to $190,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, paid time off, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
