About the role

We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join the India office of DESRI, i.e., DESRI India Private Limited, based in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be a part of Asset Management team and will regularly interact with the U.S. and Hyderabad-based teams, as well as external parties. The candidate will be a part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio of wind, solar, and storage projects within a dynamic environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.


What you'll do

In this role, you will use performance data and SCADA to improve the performance of a solar PV project and the minimize downtime of equipment. You will identify faults, offline and underperforming equipment, generate actionable insights for the O&M team, and monitor the performance of equipment pre-repair and post-repair to verify if the fault has been nullified completely. If the fault is not completely nullified, you will then provide appropriate feedback to the O&M team. You will be able to use this as an opportunity to improve fault detection. You will be expected to build new logic when a need arises, and then develop that new logic either based on published research, first principal physics, or best industry practices. Additionally, you will explore AI and ML based methods to detect faults in a solar PV project. You will create a fault log in an Excel sheet or database. You will also create a dashboard to report project specific activities on different fault logs. It is expected that you will conduct research and implement improvements to existing business processes. In addition to above, you will be required to build and maintain reports, and undertake automation initiatives. Furthermore, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate new features.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold-   

  • A B.Tech./M.Tech. in Energy Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering and up to 6 years of relevant industrial experience (including design, operation, and energy estimation and performance due diligence)
  • The ability for quick and fast visualization of performance data and weather monitoring station data
  • Skills in documentation of due diligence and reporting
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Exposure to Python and data visualization
  • Exposure to dashboard tools like Power BI
  • Basic understanding of building machine learning models and experience in building a machine learning or deep learning model
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
