About the role

DESRI is seeking a talented and highly motivated Executive Director of Preconstruction. The Executive Director will lead and manage all preconstruction phases to FNTP including engineering, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and EPC procurement and contracting.


What you'll do

You’ll be tasked with ensuring all preconstruction activities align with DESRI’s business objectives and project goals in this critical leadership role. You’ll collaborate with several different teams to secure and underwrite project opportunities in new solar and BESS development, as well as optimize DESRI’s existing fleet through surplus and repowering strategies. You’ll be tasked with managing the budgeting, forecasting, and cost estimation processes to ensure accurate and competitive PPA/M&A proposals while leading the team to prepare cost estimates, plant performance, and schedules for prospective projects. You’ll also be tasked with building relationships with EPCs, engineers, subcontractors, and other external stakeholders to achieve a competitive approach. In this role you’ll drive innovation and continuous improvement with preconstruction activities to enhance project delivery and profitability. You’ll also provide executive-level reporting and insights on market performance, trends, initiatives, and code standards that could change the cost and deal structuring of opportunities. Finally, you’ll collaborate with all department leaders to align preconstruction efforts with DESRI’s business goals.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of ten years of experience and an undergraduate degree, preferably in construction management, engineering, or architecture, is required.
  • A record of academic and professional achievement, well-developed communication skills, the ability to collaborate well with a small team, proven organizational acumen when working on multiple projects, and a high level of motivation are all vital to this role.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and driving successful project outcomes is required.
  • Candidates should have expertise in construction methodologies, budgeting, risk management, cost estimating, scheduling, and value engineering as well as proficiency in construction estimating software.
  • The expected annual base salary for this position is $225,000 to $260,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, paid time off, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
