Warehouse Manager (Temporary)

Summary:

As a Warehouse Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient and safe warehouse operations by collaborating with company leadership and coordinating across departments. You will oversee warehouse operations, ensuring all tasks meet quality and safety standards while identifying and resolving inefficiencies in processes, materials, or equipment. Your responsibilities include analyzing production data, inspecting products for quality and defects, and preparing and completing the required management reports. By implementing procedures that promote workplace safety and complying with EPA and OSHA regulations, you will foster a secure environment for all employees. You will also assist in creating departmental budgets, execute maintenance tasks when needed, and occasionally drive company vehicles to transport materials, products, or staff. Your leadership will directly contribute to continuous improvement and operational success.

 

Additional information:

  • This position is a full-time position on-site at our Warehouse in Chico, CA.
  • This role requires on-site presence and does not offer remote work options.
  • A typical work week is 8 hours daily Monday through Friday.
  • The environment is a ventilated enclosed warehouse without climate control. Temperatures can be very cold or very hot depending on outdoor weather.

Minimum Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend work on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Ensure efficient operations through collaboration and coordination with company leadership and other departments.
  • Assess cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; make and implement recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Supervise operations, ensuring all work is performed accurately and according to quality and safety standards.
  • Provide guidance and oversight in development and execution of renovations and expansions, coordinates outside contractors and vendors.
  • Set and assess priorities across the team.
  • Complete all required management reports.
  • Execute maintenance activities when needed.
  • Collect, evaluate, analyze, and assess production data.
  • Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
  • Identify and correct problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills. 
  • Develop and implement procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment. 
  • Research, identify, and present new ideas to improve warehouse operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA.
  • Work with company leadership to develop and implement departmental budgets.
  • Drive as needed (company vehicle provided) to occasionally transport materials, products, or employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Manager responsibilities:

  • Establish hiring, training, growth, and development strategies within the department.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provide guidance to managers in the daily execution of their duties, offering constructive and timely feedback.
  • Oversee the discipline and employment terminations of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Ensure the department is adhering to standards, best practices, and company policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in related field, or equivalent industry work experience required, bachelor’s degree in industrial management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Valid California Driver’s License with no more than 1 point and no DUI’s.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Attend work on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Ability to consistently work full-time on-site Monday through Friday during the operational hours of the department.
  • Three (3) years of related experience
  • Capability of communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to think critically, independently, and utilize problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to pivot between multiple priorities and projects as needed.
  • Must be detail-oriented and consistently accurate in all aspects of work, including data entry and organization skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong level of personal and professional integrity and ethics.
  • Collaborative mindset for internal and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to maintain highly effective working relationships.
  • Ability to remain motivated to produce the required deliverables accurately and on-time.
  • Knowledge of business management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and production methods, etc.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and/or leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check, driving record review, non-arduous physical, and drug/alcohol screening.

  • Willingness to be forklift certified.
  • Trailer experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Use of hands to hold, grip, carry, and physically interact with objects, tools, or controls.
  • Requires use of near vision with or without correction, and an ability to see details at close range (such as using a computer monitor, reading reports, etc.).
  • Able to navigate all areas of the facilities, including areas accessible only by stairs.
  • Carrying, lifting, pushing and/or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to occasionally ascend and descend stairs and ladders.
  • May be required at times to sit for extended periods of up to 6 hours.
  • PPE is required for some tasks, must be able to correctly use and wear PPE equipment.
  • Proven ability to adhere to all safety standards and promote a safe working environment.

The pay range for this role is:

68,000 - 80,000 USD per year (Headquarters)
