Full Time Tree Climber/No Groundwork or Chainsaws

DigitalPath is hiring! We are hiring a Tree Climber for the Chico/Red Bluff area. DigitalPath is a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) providing residential and business internet service in Northern and Central California. We specialize in bringing high-speed wireless internet to rural or hard to reach customers. Our mission is to bring a faster, more reliable service for customers that are typically unserved or underserviced by cable companies.

The Ideal Candidate will be someone that will:

• Adheres to safety guidelines, performing work according to all policies and procedures. Learns, understands, and adheres to all safety rules and company safety policies, participates in all safety training sessions offered, asks questions, and improves job safety skills
• Climbs trees using proper equipment.
• Sets up equipment in trees.

A Successful Candidate will have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in tree climbing with at least 3 years of experience.
• Strong computer skills with Office 365 and stand-alone applications such as, Excel, Word, Project, Access and PowerPoint.
• Presents a professional appearance, positive attitude, and displays a strong work ethic.
• Must be comfortable working at heights, able and willing to climb up to 300 ft. with fall protection. (NO FEAR OF HEIGHTS)
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
• Capability of communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
• Proven ability to adhere to all safety standards and promote a safe working environment.
• To comply with safety and equipment requirements, body weight cannot exceed 250 Ibs.
• Able to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission is a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License with no more than 1 point on your record and no DUI’s.

Physical requirements: 

• This position offers an alternative work week schedule with 4 days a week at 10 hours a day.
• You must be able to climb 3 to 4 trees a day with no groundwork or use of chainsaws.
• Requires travel to worksite locations using a company vehicle with either an automatic transmission or possible manual transmission.
• Requires sufficient strength and coordination for lifting up to 55 lbs. from ground level to above head level.
• Must be able to stand, walk, move, climb, carry, bend, twist, kneel, reach, push and pull as part of the job.
• Ability to bend, stoop and kneel for 25 to 35 minutes at a time.
• Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
• Specific vision requirements for this job include close, distant, color, and peripheral vision, depth
• perception and ability to adjust focus.
• PPE required for some tasks.
• A post-offer pre-employment background check, driving record review, and arduous physical with drug/alcohol screening will be performed.
