Cafeteria Lead (Part-Time)

DigitalPath is hiring! We are hiring a Cafeteria Lead, part-time, for our Chico, CA location. DigitalPath is a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) providing residential and business internet service in Northern and Central California. We specialize in bringing high-speed wireless internet to rural or hard to reach customers. Our mission is to bring a faster, more reliable service for customers that are typically unserved or underserviced by cable companies.

As a Cafeteria Lead, you will play a key role in one of our most valued employee benefits—our company Café, which provides fresh, enjoyable food and a welcoming environment for staff to take their breaks. You will be responsible for contributing positivity, maintaining organization, and ensuring attention to detail in all aspects of the Café's operations. Your experience in food preparation and inventory tracking will be essential as you manage daily tasks and help foster a positive atmosphere for our team. 

 

Additional information:

  • This position is a part-time position on-site at our office in Chico, CA. 
  • A typical work week is about 5 hours daily Monday through Friday.
  • This role requires on-site presence and does not offer remote work options.
  • All job offers are contingent upon applicant passing a post-offer, pre-employment background check, non-arduous physical, and drug/alcohol screening.

Minimum Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend work on a regular and continuous basis. 
  • Promote excellent customer service at all times by demonstrating a professional and calm demeanor. 
  • About 20 hours a week with Lunch Service from 11am-2pm daily.
  • Prepare hot and cold lunches, as well as ready-to-go food for the field and night employees.
  • Set up and merchandise food.
  • Purchase and keep food supplies stocked.
  • Basic data entry for inventory and purchase tracking.
  • Maintain inventory through weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual counts of inventory.
  • Visually inspect inventory levels on a daily basis, makes orders or shopping trips as necessary.
  • Help ensure Company policies are adhered to for purchase of food items.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of the facility, service areas, and all kitchen equipment such as counters, tables, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, and other kitchen appliances.
  • Utilize kitchenware such as knives, spatulas, whisks, tongs, spoons, and ladles.
  • Run errands and perform other tasks as assigned (company vehicle provided).
  • Operate the company POS system.
  • Adjust and/or fix employee POS accounts as necessary. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Experience working in a restaurant, kitchen, and food handling environment.
  • ServSafe or Food Handlers certification desired.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the office. 
  • Valid California Driver’s License with no more than 1 point and no DUI’s.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to maintain highly effective working relationships.
  • Ability to think critically, independently, and utilize problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to pivot between multiple priority projects as needed.
  • Must be detail-oriented and consistently accurate in all aspects of work, including data entry and organization skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong level of personal and professional integrity and ethics.
  • Ability to remain self-motivated to produce required deliverables accurately and on-time. 
  • Maintain focus while working on-site with other team members present.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and focus, even during stressful situations.
  • Ability to consistently work part-time on-site Monday through Friday during the operational hours of the department.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and use repetitive motions. 
  • Specific vision requirements include close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Requires use of near vision with or without correction, and an ability to see details at close range (such as using a computer monitor, reading reports, etc.). 
  • Use of computer systems, video displays, keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals.
  • Use of hands to hold, grip, carry, and physically interact with objects, tools, or controls. 
  • Must be able to navigate all areas of the cafe, office, and occasionally including areas accessible only by stairs.
  • Must be able to work around/navigate hot items safely, such as an oven, stove-top, cooking appliances, etc.
  • Occasionally may require carrying, lifting, pushing and/or pulling objects up to 25 pounds. 
  • PPE is required for some tasks.
