As a Payroll Specialist, you will oversee all aspects of payroll processing, from semi-monthly and off-cycle submissions to managing employee leave and performing regular audits. What You'll Do:
- Lead day-to-day payroll functions for Digital Path and ALERTWest employees.
- Process off-cycle and semi-monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage prevailing wage setup and certified payroll processing.
- Calculate, audit, and post payroll and timekeeping data, including PTO leave and other related calculations.
- Handle complex payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies for employees and management.
- Prepare monthly payroll-related reports, including PTO liability and labor allocations.
- Perform audits of payroll-related forms, including 941 forms.
- Evaluate current payroll policies and recommend improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing employee inquiries and maintaining payroll accuracy.
What You’ll Bring:
- 3+ years of relevant payroll experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll laws and practices, including prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Professionalism, confidentiality, and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods and use repetitive motions (writing, typing, etc.).
- Vision requirements: close, distant, and peripheral vision for reading reports and using computer systems.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects up to 25 pounds.
- Able to navigate all areas of the office, including stairs.
