WHY YOU WOULD BE A FIT?

As the Vice President of Product at Dispatch, you will lead the direction of our Product and User Experience teams, engaging in hands-on product management to advance our mission. Your role involves synthesizing business priorities and user needs into a strategic vision and roadmap that propels our growth. You will serve as an expert of simplification, skillfully navigating through complexities to pinpoint the essential elements. By judiciously trimming scope without compromising on quality, you will unveil innovative solutions to difficult and intricate challenges.

In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation across the company. This involves fostering a culture of creativity and experimentation, encouraging the team to explore new ideas and technologies that can enhance our products and services.

Your responsibilities extend to steering through transformations, ensuring the team remains cohesive and aligned by clearly communicating roles, goals, and expectations, and offering timely feedback. At Dispatch, your leadership will be pivotal in cultivating high-performing teams by participating at a strategic level, demonstrating responsibility, compassion, integrity, and a capacity for forgiveness. YOUR ASSIGNMENT (should you choose us and we choose you!)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Product Vision & Strategy: Develop a long-term product vision and strategy aligned with business goals. Identify key products and features needed for future growth and market leadership. Create a comprehensive product vision and strategy that prioritizes customer needs and market demands, and ensure it is adaptable to evolving market conditions

  • Prioritized Roadmap: Create and maintain a prioritized product roadmap. Ensure alignment with the long-term vision and immediate business needs, balancing innovation with practicality. Develop a strategic product roadmap that outlines key milestones, timelines, and deliverables

  • Product Delivery: Oversee the delivery of new products and features to users. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Manage the product development process in collaboration with engineering and design teams

  • Product Performance: Monitor and analyze the performance of our products. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and continuously improve our offerings. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and inform future strategy

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong communication and collaboration across all teams, including executive leadership, sales, marketing, engineering, and customer support. Ensure all stakeholders are aligned and support product initiatives

  • User-Centric Approach: Ensure a deep understanding of our user’s needs and preferences. Advocate for the customer in all product decisions and foster a customer-centric approach within the team. Continuously integrate customer feedback into the product development process

  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of innovation by adhering to the newly implemented UX Design sprint management processes, and business models. Promote a proactive problem-solving approach within the team to identify and address issues efficiently

  • Leadership and Team Development: Build, mentor, and expand the product management team, fostering a culture of innovation, proactivity, and excellence. Invest in the professional development of team members and ensure they have the skills and resources to excel

  • KPI Management: Determine and manage department KPIs that align with an organizational scorecard. Monitor product performance and provide regular updates to the executive team

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to deliver the best solution for the user, ensuring an excellent experience for the Dispatch suite of offerings

  • Partner closely with the Chief Technology Officer to ensure we have the right amount of resources and talent needed to realize the set product vision and roadmap priorities

  • Share the Product vision, roles, goals, expectations, strategies, and priorities within the Product and User Experience teams to ensure everyone understands our product suite and our customers, and creates an environment where the team is able to work autonomously to deliver value

  • Determine and manage department KPIs that align with an organizational scorecard

  • Manage the financial performance of the Product teams, including evaluating current team capabilities, planning, budgeting, and contractual and human resources requirements 

  • Pioneer the creation and delivery, and manages milestones of, the product portfolio and roadmap to delight customers, increase revenue, and drive engagement with our network of independent contractors

  • Set a high product standard while resolving trade-offs between speed, quality, and scope

  • Continuously improve upon and communicate product processes cross-functionally to optimize deliveries while learning from customers and users and informing what we need to do to the product

  • Constantly question and test assumptions using qualitative feedback, quantitative A/B tests, and KPIs; then iterates and improves on what has been shipped

  • Partner closely with each area of the business to prioritize the backlog, make tradeoffs in product scope, and update timelines

  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM & DISPATCH
  • 10+ years Product Management experience 

  • 5+ years experience successfully leading a Product and/or User Experience team(s) 

  • 3+ years product-related experience within a tech startup environment or high-growth SaaS organization

  • 2+ years experience conducting user research and synthesizing customer feedback

  • Comfort managing stakeholders and distilling differing voices within a company and the ability to communicate at all levels cross-functionally

  • The ability to create a product roadmap that balances customer problems with business goals

  • Proficient with data; understanding what to measure and how

  • A vast understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), engineering processes, and how product releases gets designed, built, and released

  • Experience with Agile development practices including kanban and scrum

  • The ability to quickly pivot as needed while consistently delivering results on time 

  • Someone who courageously identifies opportunities and the determination to create solutions that meet the needs of the business

  • The ability to determine what to build and what not to build, bringing focus and steadiness to teams

  • A successful track record of building, managing, and scaling enterprise software products while leveraging agile methodologies



WHAT WE OFFER:


  • Compensation. The base salary range for this role is $220,000- $250,000 annually. We consider various factors in determining actual pay which include your skills, qualifications, experience, education or training, and location.
