About the role

The Corporate Director of Finance & Administration will oversee the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s administrative and financial services at the corporate and federal contract levels, supporting and promoting profitable goals and objectives.


What you'll do

  • Provide leadership to various functions within Finance & Administrative Services, including finance and accounting, budget, procurement, payroll, custodial and grounds services, maintenance and construction, risk management, technology, records, and food services.
  • Develop, implement, operate, maintain, and control the essential operating systems, information, and financial business of the company in collaboration with other executive staff, and skilled and trusted departmental employees.
  • Define and implement key performance indicators and strategic objectives for the division and, as appropriate, the entire organization; facilitate measurement of those objectives, reporting results to the executive team.
  • Draft and implement policies and best practices to support achievement of objectives, required standards, and consistent delivery of high-quality services.
  • Develop, review, and assess the operational and financial viability of new and existing contractual agreements and proposals.
  • Ensure availability of adequate and appropriate equipment, staffing, and systems; recommend additional staffing and services.
  • Establish and apply system of internal controls to assure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices, including but not limited to tax laws, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), federal acquisition regulations (FAR), and cost accounting standards (CAS).
  • Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of monthly budget variance reports, financial closings, audit outcomes, and contract compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of developments and trends in finance and administration including technological advances.
  • Facilitate implementation of new systems and major modification of existing systems to reduce downtime.
  • Oversee day-to-day functions of finance and administration departments for corporate and federal contracts.
  • Create, implement, generate, and provide training for corporate and project-based financial reports.
  • Establish company budgets and expense reports.
  • Predict income generation and spending ability for active and future projects.
  • Support a culture of respect and inclusion across all levels of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA and Job Corps experience preferred
  • At least 15 years of experience in the financial function of a company required
  • Thorough knowledge of financial and legal best practices and requirements with a proven ability to provide sound and ethical financial counsel to executive leadership
  • Thorough understanding of and personal involvement with systems and methodologies of finance and administration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to travel, as needed or required (30% to contract sites, conferences, audits, etc.)
