BAS Graphics Engineer

About the role:

We are seeking a DDC Graphics Specialist to design and develop advanced graphical user interfaces for BAS, BMS, EMS, and EPMS systems. This role creates modern, intuitive, and high-performance graphics that support building operators in commercial and mission-critical environments. Ideal candidates have experience in building automation, HVAC systems, and GUI development using industry-standard design tools and SCADA visualization platforms.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete all graphics design and development within allocated project hours and established timelines.
  • Design visually appealing, dynamic, easy-to-use, and modern-looking graphic solutions for building operators per client and company standards.
  • Ensure timely delivery of graphics packages to jobsites to meet project completion schedules.
  • Multi-task effectively across multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.
  • Identify and report quality control issues to project managers and engineering management in a timely manner.
  • Maintain consistent response times and follow-up communications with assigned project managers.
  • Deliver accurate and timely graphic design deliverables that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Independently design and develop sophisticated DDC graphics within project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Create modern, intuitive graphical user interfaces that enhance operator efficiency and system monitoring capabilities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, control technicians, and engineering teams to deliver comprehensive graphics solutions.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects while maintaining consistent quality and delivery standards.
  • Provide technical problem-solving expertise to develop optimal visualization solutions for end-users.
  • Ensure proper documentation for long-term customer servicing and system maintenance.
  • Maintain comprehensive revision tracking for up-to-date project packages to support continual updates and system expansions.
  • Develop and maintain graphics libraries and templates for consistent implementation across projects.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience with building automation systems and DDC applications.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in graphical software development and interface design.
  • Strong understanding of BAS/BMS/EMS/DDC/EPMS systems and their operational requirements.
  • Proficiency in graphics software applications such as Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or equivalent design tools.
  • Experience with HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and building automation principles.
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • High degree of integrity and mature judgment in decision-making processes.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DGLogik/DGLux5 Designer, ECLYPSE Designer, or ENVYSION Designer platforms.
  • Experience with specialized graphics tools such as Orcaview Illustrator or Sweet Home 3D.
  • Experience with web-based graphics development and responsive design principles.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling and visualization techniques for facility layouts.
  • Experience with version control systems and collaborative development workflows.
