Position Title: Supply Side Energy Manager
Position Location: Remote - work virtually from anywhere in the United States

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Supply Side Energy Manager to lead the development and execution of energy procurement strategies and supply-side programs. This individual will focus on sourcing clean and cost-effective power for our clients through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), engagement with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), and alignment with investor and stakeholder objectives. The role will collaborate closely with the Executive Director of the Energy Group but will concentrate on external-facing opportunities and power market engagement.
This is a high-impact role ideal for a candidate who speaks the language of the power industry, understands how utility-scale energy impacts the financial and operational landscape of mission-critical facilities, and brings strong customer and IPP relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead business development efforts related to supply-side energy services, including renewable PPAs, virtual PPAs, green tariffs, and energy hedging.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with energy buyers (end users), IPPs, utilities, and energy aggregators.
- Advise clients on procurement strategies, energy risk management, and decarbonization pathways tied to supply-side solutions.
- Translate market opportunities into actionable energy programs for hyperscale, collocation, and enterprise data center operators.
- Monitor and interpret power market trends (ISO/RTOs, capacity markets, LMPs, REC pricing) and communicate their implications for stakeholders.
- Develop financial models and risk profiles for energy contracts, helping clients and internal teams understand lifecycle costs and value.
- Support client ESG goals by aligning supply-side energy programs with investor expectations, shareholder reports, and sustainability frameworks.
- Coordinate with internal teams on cross-functional initiatives that tie supply and demand-side energy strategies into a cohesive offering.
- Represent DLB at industry events, conferences, and with energy regulatory bodies when appropriate.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (ADVANCED LEVEL FOR ALL THE FOLLOWING)
- Proven track record negotiating or managing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) or related contracts.
- Deep understanding of Independent Power Producers (IPPs), utility market dynamics, and stakeholder expectations in energy procurement.
- Ability to develop and nurture relationships with end customers, utilities, and project developers.
- Strategic thinker who understands the intersection of sustainability, energy cost, and business risk.
- Experience supporting data center operators, REITs, or large-scale real estate portfolios.
- Familiarity with ISO/RTO markets (e.g., PJM, ERCOT, CAISO).
- Strong financial modeling and energy contract analysis skills.
- Understanding of how energy choices impact shareholder reporting, ESG scoring, and long-term investment strategies.
TRAVEL / RELOCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Up to 10%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states
- Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Energy, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in the power markets, utility-scale energy procurement, or corporate energy management.
