About Donum Dei Classical Academy

Donum Dei Classical Academy, a Gift of God, opened in August 2019 in San Francisco, California. Our mission is to impart a rich classical Christian curriculum full of Scriptural truth and life-giving experiences. We exist to nourish students’ hearts, souls, minds, and bodies for the purpose of growing in them knowledge, wisdom, good character, and Christ-like virtue worthy of bringing glory to our great God. The leadership team has set the foundation for a rich intellectual and spiritual culture, with excellent teachers across disciplines who are dedicated to shaping the hearts and minds of the young.

School Hours

Monday through Thursday, 8:00am-3:15pm and Friday, 8:00am-1:30pm | Extended Care until 5:30pm

As we invite students to step into everything they are designed to be and do, our faculty and staff must also reflect and invest in our daily work of responding to God’s calling through an inner posture of discipline, diligence, and dedication. This position supports the overall success of Donum Dei in foundational and fundamental ways that impact all areas of our organization.  As a classroom teacher, you’ll help develop our grammar school, support initiatives to further our institutional effectiveness and reach, as well as support the overall wellbeing of our students through facilitating daily academic, social, spiritual, and emotional learning.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Professional working experience in specified job areas

Requirements

  • Agree with Donum Dei’s Statement of Faith and serve as a minister of the Gospel.

  • Complete professional development requirements and safety training throughout the school year as applicable.

  • Have a love for children, display a love for learning, and commit to cultivate that love for learning in students.

  • Devote yourself wholeheartedly to the Lord and be in good standing with a Christian church.



      Role & Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery:

  • Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.

  • Deliver engaging and effective classroom instruction that aligns with the school's classical education model.

  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles.

  • Adapt lessons as needed to meet the needs of individual students.

Classroom Management:

  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment.

  • Enforce school policies and procedures to ensure student behavior aligns with the academy’s standards.

  • Manage student behavior through positive reinforcement and appropriate disciplinary measures.

  • Monitor student activity to prevent disruptions and ensure on-task behavior.

Student Engagement:

  • Encourage and motivate students to participate actively in the learning process.

  • Foster a love for learning and intellectual curiosity in students.

  • Build positive relationships with students to create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

  • Provide feedback and assistance to students to help them understand concepts and improve their skills.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Administer quizzes, tests, and other assessments as outlined in the lesson plans.

  • Collect and review student work to evaluate progress and understanding.

  • Provide timely feedback to students and report any concerns about student performance to the regular teacher.


Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as needed.

  • Leave detailed notes and reports for the regular teacher regarding student performance, behavior, and any issues that arose during the day.

  • Attend meetings or briefings as required to stay informed about school policies and procedures.

Professional Conduct:

  • Adhere to the school's code of conduct and professional standards.

  • Demonstrate reliability and punctuality in reporting to assigned duties.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.

  • Engage in professional development opportunities as required by the academy.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students during non-instructional times such as lunch, recess, and transitions between classes.

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as taking attendance and maintaining accurate records.

  • Support the school’s mission and values by participating in school events and activities as needed.

  • Be flexible and willing to take on additional duties or cover other classes as required.

Compensation

Compensation is paid at an hourly rate of $26.50 per hour. Paychecks are deposited bi-monthly.


The pay range for this role is:

26.50 - 26.50 USD per hour (Campus)
