About Donum Dei Classical Academy

Donum Dei Classical Academy, a Gift of God, opened in August 2019 in San Francisco, California. Our mission is to impart a rich classical Christian curriculum full of Scriptural truth and life-giving experiences. We exist to nourish students’ hearts, souls, minds, and bodies for the purpose of growing in them knowledge, wisdom, good character, and Christ-like virtue worthy of bringing glory to our great God. The leadership team has set the foundation for a rich intellectual and spiritual culture, with excellent teachers across disciplines who are dedicated to shaping the hearts and minds of the young.

Preschool Hours

Monday through Thursday, 8:00am-3:15pm and Friday, 8:00am-3:15pm | Extended Care until 5:30pm

How this role fits into the team

Each member of our team is essential to building a thriving culture that sees and calls out the image of God in our students and in one another. As we invite students to step into everything they are designed to be and do, our faculty and staff must also reflect and invest in our daily work of responding to God’s calling through an inner posture of discipline, diligence, and dedication. This person would work with our Early Childhood Education Director to define classroom rhythms and serve the students under our care.

Qualifications & Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Professional working experience in specified job areas
  • All of the requirements within one of the following options must be met:

Option 1

  • 12 core semester units in early childhood education/development
  • 6 months experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child program

Option 2

  • 6 completed units of early childhood education
  • Enrolled in at least 2 semester units at a college until fully qualified

Requirements

  • Agree with Donum Dei’s Statement of Faith and serve as a minister of the Gospel.
  • Complete professional development requirements and safety training throughout the school year as applicable.
  • Attend Morning Assembly (M/W/F at 8am) and Friday Staff Meetings (1:45-2:45) as applicable.
  • Participate in school activities such as The Greatest Gift, equipping events and fundraisers as applicable.
  • Have a love for children, display a love for learning, and commit to cultivate that love for learning in students.
  • Devote yourself wholeheartedly to the Lord and be in good standing with a Christian church.

  • Teaches integrated subjects passionately and excellently
  • Brings to life God’s words through practical applications
  • Creates a safe and nurturing learning environment for children
  • Assists with regular communication with parents
  • Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for young children
  • Carry out lesson plans
  • Helping children use the bathroom
  • Handling basic hygiene needs such as handwashing
  • Preparing children for and supervising them during naptime
  • Preparing and serving healthy snacks
  • Observing children for developmental problems and other concerns—and passing this information on to the preschool director
  • Execute preferred classroom management and discipline strategies
  • Participate and help with parent-teacher conferences as needed

Monday through Friday 7:30am-1:30pm

Part Time Exempt - 30 hours

Set PTO and Sick Pay

Preschool Staff Set PTO Schedule

  • Set PTO: (33 days) Based on the published 24/25 Academic Calendar
  • Working Schedule: (46 weeks) including but not limited to school trimesters, required in-service days,  and required professional development days.

San Francisco County Sick Pay

  • 72 hours annually accrued at a rate of 1 hour per 30 hours worked.

Compensation

Compensation is an annual salary paid bimonthly with partial salary paid as tuition credit if applicable. See below for details.


The pay range for this role is:

30,000 - 34,000 USD per year (Campus)
