Job Summary:

DCU's research and development department is seeking a CAD designer to document information needed to produce existing products and in the development of new products. Designers will create technical drawings and other related materials to assist in completion of various projects on-time and within budget.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Work with other teams to obtain reference information for drawings.
• Work with team to execute projects on time and on budget.
• Make corrections to the drawings as requested by the senior staff.
• Create and update database of design records for future reference purposes.
• Assist team in CAD drawing and designing tasks.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to read and interpret Engineering/Drafting codes, standards, and terminology.
• Comprehensive knowledge of measuring devices.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations using standard formulas and tables.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with practical experience.
• Must be able to use basic hand tools to assemble, disassemble, and modify prototype designs

Education and Experience:

Associates Degree- Bachelors Preferred-in Applied Sciences, Computer Modeling, Drafting, or related field.

1+ year(s) of professional experience or related training in 3D CAD Systems; Solidworks preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
